These are some HARD ass beats, I can't lie. Every listen makes this album hit even harder. It's not a particularly deep album, it's pretty simple on the conceptual side, but most of the beats on display here are so intense that you forget it's pretty aimless. It's well structured, however, and through its 29-minute runtime, you're constantly engaged and entertained.
FAVORITE TRACKS: RICKY, BUSHY B INTERLUDE, P.A.T
One of my favorite albums of all time. Not a second is wasted on this album, masterfully taking you from bangers to melancholic soundscapes throughout its 60min runtime like it's nothing. Throughout the whole experience, you feel like you're on a journey through the vast landscape of ideas (it kinda sounds like how the LittleBig Planet openers look like iykyk).
Thousands of samples were used to make this album, making it an extremely impressive album to conceptualize. The fact that it's been ... read more
this EP broke me. It's somewhat a prequel to THE GHOST~POP TAPE, which is incredible. However, the last song is interesting. It's a reprise of Omega Weapon, but without any of the original vocals, instead replacing it with a low growling voice. Devon isn't here anymore.
The rest of the tracks are equally dark, but I think this is an experience that needs to be heard blind. What an incredible listen.
this truly is a chill world *laugh track*
But fr, these are some of his best songs ever. I love the approach this album takes instrumentally, taking everything I love about Vaporwave and adding some bouncy drums and rapping to it. Yes, the rapping is a bit goofy at times, and he's definitely not as good at it as he is now, but he's already a top-tier producer. You can also see how his comedic, hyper-political lyrics of today were already ingrained into his persona 8 years before his breakout ... read more
The only thing it's got going for it is the annoying ass harmony in the background
It doesn't stand on its own, but once I mix it with the other STH tracks, it feels like it was MEANT to be there.
Far too disorganized for me to have a good experience with it. Overrated asf too
As I've grown older, this album has fallen off for me, but I still appreciate how it inspired me when I first listened to it a couple years ago. That's why, even as I grow out of this kind of music, I will still cherish it for years to come.
This was less intense and scary, but instead extremely cathartic and beautiful.
This album got me through the darkest period of my life and I will always cherish it for it.
