Kanye West - Graduation
80

This album is good but so horrifically overrated (by Kanye fans mostly) , like it's a great Pop Rap album but a) Kanye has better albums and b) it really doesn't do anything that new to be honest.

Beats are great but never really incredible, Kanye delivers a good performance but not his best, the story is good but again not incredible. Genuinely feel like it would be easier to appreciate this if this wasn't one of the most glazed pieces of music ever. Considering it's ... read more

Slayyyter - DANCE...
90

Ima just use this to review their entire run of singles

Yeah this entire run of singles is pretty brilliant, blending more traditional pop sounds with Electro, Hyperpop, EDM influence, and French Electro on this track (specifically Justice). I'll be pretty shocked if this album doesn't end up in my top 5 of the year, unless she somehow only cooked up 4 Brilliant songs and the rest arent as great.

femtanyl - MAN BITES DOG
70

This is my first time listening to femtanyl btw.

This album feels like a mix between RevengeSeekerz and I Love My Computer, and it comes out okay, but worse than ILMC (on second thought it's about = to RevengeSeekerz), lacking the EDM melodies of ILMC, while not quite meeting the hype of RevengeSeekerz on the first half. Second half is definitely better though, but still not incredible. To be fair, this type of music is not nescecarily my favourite, coming back for a later listen might ... read more

Brent Faiyaz - Icon
70

It's good, don't get me wrong, but it's not incredible, just a pretty standard contemporary R&B album. Faiyaz' vocals are always pretty good, backing instrumental is good, but neither ever really become incredible, and the songs kinda blend together, which also makes it hard to have a best song. Definitely think Faiyaz' can outdo his performance here, if he extends he vocals to new places, or uses more ambitious production.

Charli xcx - Wuthering Heights
75

Not too bad, just a quick, fun project from Charli. Does new things while not holding on to the Brat sound (which, tbf, she has dragged by this point), and ends up with a good project, while not quite reaching the heights of her last album.

Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
90

Experimental and genius. Also contains in my opinion the best 3 song run in experimental hip hop, possibly all of hip hop, as Really Doe, Lost and Ain't it funny. Not much else to say, just listen to the album and it will speak for itself.

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Piñata
90

Masterclass. Madlib brings incredible beats consistency, and Freddie brings great lyrics and storytelling. However, it doesn't quite reach the highs of Madvillainy, or have any concept that really levels this up to a 100/100 album.

J. Cole - The Fall-Off
83

I listened to both discs separately. I think this is appropriate since The Fall Off is really 2 seperate albums, made at separate times. I will also leave and end rating at the end of each disc.

Genuinely shocked he didn't put JID on this album, his voice would fit pretty perfectly on Disc 39, considering he gets more melodic there.

DISC 39 - 85 - Generally more melodic, and very enjoyable the whole way through, with 4 (as seen) stand out tracks.

1 39 Intro - 93 - J cole really pushes ... read more

Wait I never posted my review of this TT

It's an ok EP, but not really for me honestly. All of the songs are pretty okay, with behold probably being the best. Did make me a bit worried for the full album at the time, but it was fine in the end.

Joji - Piss In The Wind
68

Accidentally got kicked out of the site, so review for first tracks will be way shorter.

I am going in blind here. I am not a joji megafan by any means, but have had decent exposure to his previous work. Haven't listened to any of the singles.

TO BE CLEAR the top part here is written after the bottom part.

I think that after listening to this album, people will be met with very conflicted feelings about it. On the one hand, this album is pretty consistently good, with nothing being ... read more

Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy (Face to Face)
88

If you a gay (sad) internet white boy this album might be your holy grail.

Separately, this is still extremely good, with a decent amount of variety within the project, great lyrics and a well constructed concept. Vocal delivery and backing is excellent, and always extremely well polished.

My main (small) gripes are that it doesn't really define its own sound as much as it takes old ones and incorporated them into a polished product, and some songs are slightly too long for my own ... read more

Don Toliver - OCTANE
65

Don doesn't perform too badly, but some bloat really drags the project down, as well as very similar production between tracks. Doesn't beat His 2024 release Hardstone Psycho.

Best Tracks: E85, ATM, Long way to Calabasas

J. Cole - BIRTHDAY BLIZZARD '26
78

Very animated over classic instrumentals. Still an EP, so can't really be that high. If we get this J Cole (but with more refined songs), The Fall Off could really be elevated to next level - my current worry about it is that it might be a little too laid back and technical, instead of fun to listen to. Also, nice transitions between tracks.

By Storm - My Ghosts Go Ghost
83

1 Can I Have You For Myself? - 90 - Beautiful soundscape, autotuned singing gets a little getting used to, but ultimately still a great track and start to the album
2 Dead Weight - 65 - Its okay, I don't really think that the singing fits with the backing. Soundscape is pretty good separately, though definitely a bit messy.
3 Grapefruit - 80 - Nice soundscape, fits much more with the vocals on top. IDK why it's rated the lowest on this album, it's not the worst
4 In My Town -90 - ... read more

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU
88

This is one of the first things I tagged as listened on this website, no clue why I never reviewed it

This album makes Peggy the Goat of experimental hip hop imo, as he yet again successfully switches up pieces of his style while making an extremely enjoyable project, this time with Rock / Metal infusions. Peggy also shows more range of emotions (in songs) then on previous projects, but by doing this he sacrifices some of the manic creative energy showed on his past 2 projects (STH and ... read more

Toby Fox - UNDERTALE Soundtrack
88

A very long soundtrack, but is carefully made and polished, with a genuinely incredible amount of variety considering that this was made by one guy. The songs have a lot of variation, from the incredible forthright and iconic Megalovania, to more laid back tracks like Snowdin Town, and straight bangers like Hopes and Dreams. The fact that a soundtrack this long and this good was made by one guy is very impressive.

Christopher Larkin - Hollow Knight (Original Soundtrack)
88

Now, I have to say that I haven;t technically listened to this whole thing seperately, but I've played the game for about 180 hours, and heard all of the tracks. This being said, this is a phenomenal piece of work, with orchestral music that perfectly fits almost every encounter in the game. The best track is Mantis Lords, and City of Tears.

Jamie Christopherson - Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Vocal Tracks
75

A surprisingly solid collection of tracks, with great backing and lyrics that suit the game pretty well. Feel like an artist could release this separately and it would genuinely be received really well.

Arctic Monkeys - Opening Night
60

I mean, it's alright, like... this is purely okay, Turner's vocals are decent but don't stun, the backing is okay but don't really fit the vocals, and the lyrics are generic and not particularly strong

Justice - †
83

A great Electro/French House album, which shines best as a polished, electrified soundscape voyage. However, the project lacks some of the variety and experimentation needed to rise it to the next-level of greatness
