This album stinks of theater kid to me, idk why. It seems very overly dramatic to the point of being pretty difficult to actually listen to. Probably doesn't help that I'm not the biggest fan of just straight noise, which this album has a lot of in its first half

PinkPantheress - Fancy That
73

A fun little album, very enjoyable. All the songs slightly blend together, with nothing really, fully ditincting them for me, which drags it down a bit. Also feels weirdly nostalgic, not really sure why though

Magdalena Bay - Second Sleep / Star Eyes
88

This one is really good. Second sleep feels like a really good mix of the Imaginal Disk sounding pop they were focusing on in Imaginal Disk, and a more Rock / Psychedelia sound they have been going for over these singles.

Magdalena Bay - This Is the World (I Made It for You) / Nice Day
85

the first track is up there with their best released tracks yet, and the second is also pretty great, going more in a rock direction, though the mixing isn't quite as good.

The first one is brilliant, the second drags it down a bit but I appreciate the new direction they were going in here

Magdalena Bay - Human Happens / Paint Me a Picture
83

A little overrated, but is still undeniably very polished and great. Very replayable. I would say it maybe sticks a bit too safe, which is my main complaint

Magdalena Bay - Unoriginal / Black-Eyed Susan Climb
85

Appreciate the slight switch up on this one to a slightly more rock focused direction, sometimes I feel tracks from these two can be a little too similar. Like the others it's very replayable.

Arctic Monkeys - Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino
73

A break from the the Arctic Monkeys normal style, this definitely feels somewhat different, but arguably doesn't go far enough in the directions it starts on. Generally pretty enjoyable, but a little bloated and leaves you somehow desiring something more. Also, not very replayable (probably by design)

Best would probably be Star Treatment (actually does a pretty good job of storytelling and setting up the album)
Worst would probably be She Looks Like Fun

EsDeeKid - Rebel
75

Just straight bangers to be honest. Main problem is the lack of variety, but the album successfully achieved what it sets out to do. Maybe I'm crazy but I think they should've bass boosted the beats more T-T

Fishmans - LONG SEASON
90

The album cover looks like how the album sounds, more than almost any other album I've seen.

On this, you will find beautiful, multi-instrumental, dreamy soundscapes that don't blow you away as much as they send you into lull, the music encasing the room it's in, very calming. Wouldn't describe it as dream and ambient pop as just dream and ambient.

85/100 for now, though this could definitely increase on a future listen

Edit: 85 -> 90

I listened to this album on a ... read more

Lil Ugly Mane - UNEVEN COMPROMISE
80

Split up into 4 distinct parts, starting with a grimy, grotty song, into a minute sample flip, into a story about his homie, into an instrumental.

It's pretty good, but considering it is a 1 song ep, and the song doesn't exactly blow me away, I can't really justify giving this above an 8/10

Yuno Miles - ALBUM
NR

On God If you just saw this and didn't know about Yuno beforehand you'd deadass think he was some underground gem.

Which he is.

Also some of u lot on here are taking this way too seriously (by which I mean actually getting pissed in the reviews) just go back to RYM ppl will take you seriously there.

Actual Reveiw (Satire?):

Overall, this album is probably Yuno's best outing yet. The rage-inspired tracks on here are actually half decent if he just turned down his vocals a ... read more

Tame Impala - The Slow Rush

Yeah this is pretty good. Not nearly as good as currents, but feels like a more pop focused sequel to it. Not much more to say than that

Best Songs: Borderline, One more Hour, Posthostumous forgiveness, On track.

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
100

Releasing an album to follow GKMC, arguably the pinnacle of west coast hip hop, is a monumental task. After only two albums, Kendrick had burned out most of the opportunities present in his original genre. Continue, and he would almost certainly never make something as good as it again. Change, and all of his newfound fame could be gone as quickly as it came. As a result, Kendrick made one of the best albums ever made

Unlike GKMC, the pinnacle of a musical project lasting for decades, ... read more

Madvillain - Madvillainy

It's just straight consistently great. Madlib provides incredible multifaceted production throughout the entire project. Doom raps incredible bars on almost every song, showing his incredible lyrical skill. It's got great variety, with no two tracks sounding the same. Every single time I return, a new track appears that proves just how good this album is.

Best tracks:
Raid - Replayability, Great beat, all over incredibly tight
Fancy Clown - Great storytelling within the song itself, ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d city

This is legitimately the perfect west coast hip hop album. We can be assured that a better west coast hip hop album will never be made. The story, almost like a movie, is brilliant, told vividly through Kendricks lyrics. The lyricism throughout the whole project is top tier. The production is consistently great, even going on a more experimental side at some points. Real, powerful messages behind many of the songs. It has incredibly high replayability. It even succeeds at being decently funny ... read more

Radiohead - OK Computer
NR

This album is almost all over really great, with a great concept, and incredible backing to every song.

However, I have a hot take, which is that I don't really like the first 3 tracks, especially airbag, which I find to be pretty horribly mixed, resulting in a bit great listen (could also be to do with where I am listening). The other two have good production but the singing brings them down a notch for me

Best Songs: No surprises, Let down, Exit Music for a film

Radiohead - In Rainbows
85

This album is really good, and incredibly polished, with no song feeling unfinished or out of place. If that is your definition of perfect, then I can totally understand why it would be a ten out of ten for you. However, my personal opinion is that it doesn't really push boundaries enough, and some songs sound a bit too similar to each other.

Favourite songs: Bodysnatchers (a surprising switch up), Arpeggi (however the version I listened to really wasn't very well mixed), and Jigsaw ... read more

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk

Nov 20 2025 - 83

This is a review in progress as of now.

Yeah this album is definitely really good, though I do think it's a bit overrated to be honest. The production throughout the album is absolutely killer, and the singing is generally very good, though I would say the delivery is a bit static throughout the track list (the style of singing doesn't really change

Some opinions on some tracks:
She Looked Just Like Me: A bit over-rated personally. A decent intro, but I have heard ... read more

Joji - SMITHEREENS
63

Some of these tracks are pretty good, but the project feels a little bit bland to me in a lot of places. Definitely not bad, but a little generic (especially in the lyrics), and the production is solid but not incredible

Favourites: Glimpse of us, Feeling like the end (Die for you is overated imo)
Worst: Blahblahblah, night rider

Pusha T - The Story Of Adidon
100

Being able to repurpose an entire beat this well is crazy work. Also, great bars
