i love when my friends make music that is actually good so i can give my honest opinion on it instead of just acting like its good cuz they're my friends yk, like wirejazz is genuinely awesome

around august of last year, I was making a LOT of songs. i have gripes with this album. i have praises for this album. but ultimately, no matter how many specific flaws and highlights i can pinpoint, none of it matters because 'the car' simply failed to grab me. it didn't evoke any sort of feeling in me for most of the duration, and i overall found it to be a very boring experience. on the writing side of things, i never had even the faintest clue as to what the hell alex was blabbering on about. on the vocal side of things, i was more ... read more

i desperately want to like this album more than i actually do, but i cant reasonably give it a higher score than this without lying to myself somewhat. the highlights on here are definitely special, with songs like 'congratulations', 'dang!', and 'stay' being some of my favorite songs mac ever put out. but that stretch from 'skin' to 'we' kills any sense of momentum that gets built with those first three songs. in that section, mac goes through ... read more
