First of two EPS from my favorite rap rock artist, Paris Texas
This was one of my favorite records of the year so far. These guys have mastered the art at creating high-energy tracks infused with guitar and other rock elements. Their flows have grown so much and I just feel like they are about to drop an insane album. Really, really good EP
Just watched his LEGO movie which inspired me to give this a listen. I thought this thing was very high quality and consistent, the vocals and mixing were nearly perfect with complex drum patterns and catchy guitar chords. It obviously isn’t anything insane as an album, though its individual songs and overall consistency led me to give this a high rating
This should be fun.
So far these instrumentals are insane but the rapping doesn't go with it very well. His voice and delivery just doesn't mesh with these type of laid back beats and instrumentals in my opinion, though I still do like his voice in general. These instrumentals and little choruses within the songs are so nice though. There were some instances where this wasn't the case, such as So Quero Ver, where I think his voice shined through very well. In the second half of ... read more
This thing was really good. It kinda gives me American parannoul vibes in that it has very consistent songs but not crazy out-there instrumentals. The singing was really good and this album jsut made you feel free like a summer road trip.
MAN THAT HORN IS GOING INSANE. This thing is kinda scary. Maybe a bit too much for me. This album is without substance but is still a very impressive piece of art. The horn sounded like a desperate soul screaming for help and though I did not like listening to any of these songs and I will probably never listen to them ever in a normal setting I cannot deny that this is an impressive piece of music.
This thing was definitely solid and had some solid songs but not as good as this current user score is saying. All in Motion and Bring it Back were elite, but there wasn't much outside of that. I just thought that some of the instrumentals were messed up a bit by too much sound and Fazo not flowing incredibly well on the beats. That being said, he did have moments where he was miles ahead the average rage rapper when it comes to flow, but those moments were a bit too rare. Overall a very, ... read more
Suuuuuper late on this one but lets get straight to it! i've listened to a good bit of Shoegaze in the past compared to other rock subgenres and it has been one of my favorites. I feel like the instrumentals on a lot of these tracks are super incredible and beautiful, but are missing some significant vocals that could really bring the emotion to some eerie and majestic instrumentals. Like literally imagine this album if it had some deep vocals before the storm of sound, then those quiet ... read more
About 20 albums behind schedule but we're trying our best. I've heard of some of Kenji's collabs with $not and DC so i'm hyped for this. Listened to Eem's album earlier and that exceeded my expectations so hopefully this does the same. BEEPR is insane. A lot of beats on here were really impressive for a rage album. Kenji is also one of the best in the game with flows and vocals though the lyrics are still lacking. Another really, really solid drop from an ... read more
Really excited for this one, but i am still WAY behind schedule.
Great intro track and the next one has Tyler-esque production. Beat of FIJI is crazy too. Eem has been doing so well on these tracks too. DUYA has tat production too. and WOW those vocal inflexions on the last two songs.
Lets get straight into it. I've heard Intro before and the duality between the first part and after the beat switch is representative of his evil thoughts and dual personalities which you see in the album cover. Now for the rest of the album
Sample on the second one is a bit too well-known but still a pretty fire track. Third track has some crazy drums, and so far this album is SO fire and different from most trap projects. This album has a lot of epic chipmunk soul-esque samples with ... read more
Lessdoit.
Reminds me of Eusexua with less drums. I really wish it had more drums. All of the instrumentals were very similar, they gave off this cyan nature forest vibe. Oklou didn't do anything crazy with the vocals, though this thing was consistent and enjoyable throughout. Nothing crazy though.
Shi it has been too long since I liestened to this but I remember the beats being insane and Larry June/2 Chainz just shitting the bed
Est Gee has had some really decent releases in the past, but this was not it at all. The first track was really the only one that was in any way good and I didn't even like it that much. These beats are incredibly basic and sound like things I could produce. EST Gee also repeating the title of the song is bad. His flow was actually decent on a lot of these tracks but the beats were still so boring. Can't believe this is a problem considering he's signed to interscope.
Really solid record from one of the best concrete boys members. This thing had really solid and experimental at times production with an array of solid features. Dc's vocal inflexions were a bit off at times but it created an interesting listening experience that kept you guessing. Really solid detroit trap-style project.
Very nice. I think Lua and supercollider took a shoegaze-ish approach with the first track, a more ambient one with the second, and a nice mixture of the two with the third track. Overall they meshed together quite nicely to form a very euphoric and consistent record. Really excited to see what's in store for these two in the future.
Extremely unique trap/hip hop album. The Old Guard is Dead is incredibly fire and there are a lot of other good tracks. The lyricism can be deep but also simple at times, though both get the job done depending on the vibe. The beats were super solid all around and there were a couple standout tracks. Really wasn't as "conscious" (i hate that word) as I would have expected but this was an extremely high quality record for this type of music
