Random DaymondWho album part 4?
Ehh, not the biggest fan. I really liked the instrumental on the first track and they were solid on the others, but I didn't like her voice/rapping as much. All her bars felt very basic and I could almost predict what she was about to say. As for the lyricism, her perspective doesn't seem to bring much to what has already been thrown out there. I feel like you can have a normal perspective/lyrics on some hard, upbeat tracks but for this style of music ... read more
Fire 4 songs that built a lot on the original album. Im only gonna include the 4 additional songs in this rating. The songs felt a lot more well-rounded without taking away the appeal and originality of them
Part 3 of reviewing albums from Daymond's reel, and this is the best one yet. I love the album cover and the alter ego of Quasimoto. His voice contrasts with Madlib's so well and it makes for an incredibly enjoyable and fun listen with a couple of star tracks mixed in between. Production wasn't anything crazy, but it didn't have to be. https://www.instagram.com/p/C7wf54voJIy/
Part 2 of Daymond's reel. This thing wasn't bad, I don't know why people are rating it so low. New genre I have not listened to yet. I enjoyed the remixes though I feel like they weren't executed very well at times.
First edition of listening to a random album from that random reel i saw. First of all what an actual good album cover. You don't see them much these days. These beats have actual instruments, it's so nice to listen to. They all have some unique guitar or piano flare. it just sounds so natural and raw. It's literally just straight up jazz that he's spitting on in some of these tracks. Overall the rapping was good and went well with the production but certainly wasn't ... read more
Pretty dang good. Nothing crazy sound-wise but just perfectly crafted songs for the most part. Songwriting was great, soundscape was ok.
Pretty good, nothing was super impressive but it sure was more consistent and varied than his other albums. Beats were really solid though the formula to all of these songs are extremely similar. It starts out with a cool little jingle then the beat drops and Tecca comes in with a very similar flow each time. I still enjoyed this thing though.
The keys at the end are emmaculate but they came in way too late and kindof randomly. I wish they were present the entire album. The interludes are super deep. Overall it didn't exactly come out to be the kind of conceptual album I think he was going for, though the tracks individually were great. I think the primary reasoning for this was the variance in soundscape from track to track
This album cover is so good. Why don't people make album covers like this anymore? Anyways, I'm 3 songs in and I already love the dreamy outer space esque keys, and Saba's rapping is so young and energetic. The keys on this thing got a bit repetitive as the album went on but overall I enjoyed it.
Time to review the album that got me into music.
This thing is still great. I know nearly every word to every song (except for the remixes of course). TJay is the absolute star on this thing, not the production or the features. His melodies are impreccable, his flow is impeccable, and all of these songs are vibe-inducing. As for the piano beats, they get somewhat repetitive, but Tjay is able to pick up that slack well enough for it to become a snooze fest.
I've been a big DC guy ever since I started listening to music, and now it's time to review his debut album. Throughout this thing, DC came with uniquely aggressive vocals and inconsistent, but at times spectacular production. There were some weaker tracks but DC's combination of rapping and singing was lethal on this thing. Just didn't stray from the script much, and that's not a bad thing, as it sure worked out on this album
Wow. Beats were absolutely unreal at times and Travis was absolutely unreal at times but there were a good bit of holes. Production wasn't great for a lot of the album, but Skyfall and Sloppy Toppy are both insane songs. Really great mixtape with some of Travis' best bangers
Eh. Production was consistent all around and the bars were alright but this album really doesn't push any kind of boundaries or new sound. Definitely not bad though.
This has been one of my favorite albums since it came out and I’m surprised it’s taken me so long to write a review. I love the way Redveil incorporates saxophones and other unexpected instruments. The best part of this album is redveils lyrics, it’s almost like he’s your friend telling you about his life
Listening to seven was the most life-changing experience I have ever had listening to a song.
I just absolutely love this vibe. It's not polished, it's not pleasing, but that is what's great about it, and Speed does a great job with it. These beats are absolutely insane and the energy Speed brings on them are just as crazy.
It's like dream rock, something that would be playing in a field of dreams that feels distant but real. And DAMN these drums go hard. Something I've noticed is these tracks don't differ much from each other - they all feature similar drums and guitar chord progressions with some interesting sounds mixed in between. It truly possesses a hopeful and adventurous sound, though I am not the biggest fan of the vocals. And within that similarity there are some parts where he just goes ... read more
Ok first of all this mixing is so bad sometimes. Like it's fine for most of the song and then one verse it just sounds like he recorded it on temu airpods, which is ironic because he has 2 microphones on his album cover. Angels in the sky is a perfect example of this. Would be an incredible song but the mixing just gets messed up on the verses. There were definitely some good songs at times but overall his lyrics were worse than ever on this album, and it seems he's not ready to go ... read more
FOREVER could have been an insane song. This whole album could have been solid but some mistakes were made that a 7 year old could point out.
White man approved. This thing was insane. It started with some heavenly guitar samples and once again the random shit Peggy samples sounds good. Then at the end it was super introspective and heavenly. I loved the way JPEGMAFIA talked about things on this album in a humorous way. Overall this thing was impeccable and the frontrunner for album of the year.
