KIDS SEE GHOSTS is a wonderful album where Kanye and Cudi finally proved their chemistry together and their careers came full circle.
From its absolutely incredible production and soundscape to the excellent writing and rapping throughout, KIDS SEE GHOSTS finds itself holding both artists to the absolute highest standard they have ever been at with the most inspiring and magnificent performances throughout it. I truly do believe that KiDS SEE GHOSTS is the best album in both Kanye West's ... read more
Great, maybe even amazing production with some pretty solid rapping as well.
Being my first Marcus D album, I didnt really know what to expect. Overall, I really enjoyed it. I think the production is excellent and the album definitely has a lot of highlights. The rapping is often where it falters, but it's still for the most part enjoyable. It definitely can have its issues though, especially on the back half of the album, where the rapping feels outdated and not in style.
75/100
What happened to the guy who used to make a solid amount of bangers, had solid singing abilities, and carried summers for popular music? Besides all that, what happened to the guy who used to put together actually cohesive albums?
Classic record, amazing record, Lupe Fiasco, the absolute goat.
Food & Liquor is a legendary project with some of the best song concepts and bar for bar rapping you will ever hear. Not much else to say besides that
Yeah this is one of those albums where once you hear it one time you don't need to hear it again.
Drake returns with his first solo studio album in 3 years, bringing some extremely surface level comments on how he is feeling now along with some pretty horrible autotuned performances. He sounds half-asleep while delivering each line and honestly no song really was all the good to me. What Did I Miss? is probably my favorite song off the tracklist, which is sad because it was the lead ... read more
ALBUM OF THE YEAR. Straight up calling it right now.
This has got to be my favorite listening experience I've had for an album in the 2020s, it was so fun going from track to track and I've already done several re-listens. The production should really speak for itself, as like on any Thundercat album, it is absolutely AMAZING, especially on the highlights. The performances and vocals delivered by Thundercat and the many guests on this album are super charismatic and really bring a ... read more
Man, this thing is an absolute blast.
Slayr is honestly one of the most promising artists coming out of the underground, and I think if he continues to innovate and make quality like he did here, he has a chance to hit the mainstream and dominate. Bloodluxe is a great expansion on the original project with so many fire transitions between tracks with genuinely interesting and chaotic beats. His performance on the album is anything too special, but it definitely complements the incredibly ... read more
Ca$ino was a pretty solid effort from Keem despite the long wait.
Going into this, I wasn't the biggest fan of Baby Keem, but this project has proved that he is able to mature both as a person and as an artist. I especially liked tracks like the title track, Ca$ino, and $ex Appeal, where he really gets into his bag very well and blends a bunch of catchy flows and verses with actually fantastic beats. There are a few moments that I'm not that fond of, especially Dramatic Girl and Good ... read more
Absolutely unlistenable beyond belief.
NEVER tell me that Drake is a good singer AT ALL. This shit is genuinely some of the most horribly mixed and produced stuff i've ever heard. Currents is one of the worst songs of the decade, and the rest of the album could be put in that exact same boat honestly. Fuck this thing, it's terrible, even Jimmy Cooks sucks ass, there is actually nothing to get out of this album in any way.
Genuinely such a surprise that 2093 was as good as it was.
I am typically not the biggest fan of this style and area of hip-hop however Yeat absolutely knocks it out of the park on 2093. Many of his previous stuff is not my favorite and even the EP he dropped last year I wasn't the biggest fan of, but this was great. Although there is a miss or two here and there, this shit goes HARD. The hits on this album still hit, the production is still fantastic, and his performances are still hold ... read more
Started the worst genre in music history, and was absolutely horrible from the day it released.
Damn this shit grew off me like crazy.
I honestly really enjoyed Octane when I listened to it first. But looking back, it really is not that great of a project. I still enjoy some tracks and still think that E85 is one of Don Toliver's best ever songs, however it is very carried by the production. Like how most of the album is carried by the production, the vocals are very underwhelming and standard. Still is one of the better Don Toliver projects though, he really just isn't albums ... read more
Although overrated, Acid Rap stands the test of time and has aged as a modern classic.
I loved this project quite a lot when I first heard it, with many of my favorite Chance songs on it. I love tracks like Acid Rain, Cocoa Butter Kisses, Chain Smoker, and Good Ass Intro. Chance really showed a lot of potential on Acid Rap, fusing the jazzy style of the production with charismatic flows with very personal and impactful writing throughout. Definitely is one of the better albums of 2013 and only ... read more
Plastic Beach was what really sold me on Gorillaz.
Growing up, I hadn't heard of Gorillaz but had heard their hits. As time went on, I got more into music as a whole and found that the reception on Plastic Beach was very good and that people like Fantano had given it nearly a perfect rating. So i decided to give it a spin; and oh my lord, this album does NOT disappoint. From the fantastic features to the incredible vocals delivered by Damon, this album has so much consistent quality ... read more
The people who hate this album truly just hate fun.
GNX is such an enjoyable album to go back to over a year after its release and stands as one of the best projects of 2024. So many fantastic songs like heart pt. 6, gloria, reincarnated, hey now, and so many more. such a consistent project with so much personality shining through from Kendrick even this late into his career. Many of the features are still very quality, especially SZA, who kills both of her performances. Love how Kendrick ... read more
