This is very theatrical, and to be fair, that absolutely works.
It really does feel like stepping out of a theatre when it finishes. It’s so dramatic, emotional, and very committed to being in its own world. And that is probably why I land where I do with it. I can absolutely admire the art, the ambition, the vocals, all of that. But I dont really like theatre, so there were definitely points where I respected it more than I fully loved it.
That is what makes this a slightly awkward ... read more
The first track was great. And then it went downhill so fast this somehow became my second lowest rated project of 2026 so far.
The biggest problem is just how lifeless it all feels. There is no energy, the trap beats are boring, and the whole thing sounds like it was made with absolutely no creativity. Nothing sticks, nothing builds, nothing really hits. It just sort of limps along for 21 minutes.
Over the past five years Fivio has really failed to live up to potential.
Ah well. At least ... read more
More like Whatever’s Mid-ever.
This is just safe, boring pop music. Not offensively bad, just boring. Charlie’s clearly good at making polished songs, but this feels like it was built in a lab to be vaguely pleasant and instantly forgettable.
There’s nothing here that really grabs you or makes you feel like he’s pushing himself at all. It just floats by. For an album called Whatever’s Clever!, there’s not actually much here that feels clever.

Just my second 90+ of the year. Wow. This is fantastic.
I’d only heard of underscores a few weeks ago because of a track called ‘bozo bozo bozo’, which isn’t even on here, then I saw they dropped an album on Friday and gave it a go. First listen, I wasn’t fully in love. Second listen onwards though, I was completely mesmerised.
I’m really getting into glitch pop lately, and this is honestly it at its best. There’s so much going on in the production, ... read more
Kid Cudi is still one of my favourite artists, even if the newer music doesn’t quite touch the classics. And for what feels like the 100th time, my man has floated in and out of retirement just to come back with another project. This one’s a 4-track, 12-minute EP, so thankfully he didn’t overstay his welcome.
Honestly, this is a pretty decent, positive little EP. It’s not life-changing and it’s definitely not top-tier Cudi, but it’s got that warm and ... read more
I don’t often review jazz because honestly it usually doesn’t excite me that much, but Alessia Cara has one of the most phenomenal voices out there and she’s no different here. This is also my first live album of the year too.
There were definitely points where I got a little bored, just because this style isn’t really my thing and some of it blends together a bit. But even then, I can’t not admire the talent. Her voice is ridiculous, and this whole project is a ... read more
This is such an average-ass comeback. First BLACKPINK and now this slightly better but still average as hell BTS Comeback.
After nearly four years away, coming back with a 14-track album should’ve felt amazing on my ears. Instead, way too much of this just left me going what the fuck is this. The album title nods to the traditional Korean folk song, and even the brief “No. 29” interlude is built around the Sacred Bell of Great King Seongdeok, National Treasure No. 29 - ... read more
Vory really has one of the best voices in this lane, which honestly just makes projects like this more disappointing. He can’t seem to make consistent music.
A lot of this four-track EP just drifts by without really landing, and for someone this talented that’s frustrating more than anything.
It’s not terrible. It just feels like another case of great voice, mid songs.

I do love Christmas music, so I was always curious how this one would land for me. I do feel Christmas music can be really hard to execute and be “good”.
Listening to it outside of Christmas definitely felt a bit weird, and I do think that affects the experience. It is hard for an album this seasonal to fully hit when you are not in that mood already. But taken for what it is, this is actually a pretty good Christmas album.

Still unmistakably Enya. It’s beautiful, soft and calming, and there are definitely moments where that magic is still there that makes me love the previous albums. But this is the first album in the run where I started to feel the formula a bit more. The soundscapes are still lovely, but they do not hit with the same awe as Watermark, Shepherd Moons or even A Day Without Rain.
I still enjoyed it, and there is enough here to make it a worthwhile listen, but this one feels more like a ... read more
I knew this one had a lot to live up to because “Only Time” is still my favourite Enya song ever. At just 37 minutes it feels lighter and a bit more delicate than some of the albums before it.
It is still beautiful though. This album has that same calming, weightless Enya magic, and when it clicks, it really clicks. “Only Time” is obviously the big one for me, but the whole record has that soft, peaceful glow to it that it is hard not to get swept up in.

This is the first Enya album in this run that does not quite feel like a 10/10.
However, it is still gorgeous. It’s still again a fantastic piece of work by Enya which feels rich, peaceful and quietly emotional.
The album maybe doesn’t reach the same highs as Watermark and Shepherd Moons but it genuinely doesn’t matter - it’s a fantastic album that will make you feel better for listening to it afterwards . The soundscapes are unreal.
Wow. I actually think I prefer this to Watermark, which is insane because I already thought that album was perfect (scored it 100/100 also). But Shepherd Moons somehow feels even more perfect. This one ended up being an even bigger commercial success, later winning Enya a Grammy for Best New Age Album. Rightly so…
It’s again so gentle and dreamy and beautiful, but never in a way that fades into the background. Everything feels so rich and perfectly placed.

I grew up hearing Enya because my mum loves her, and she told me the other day I was literally listening to her whilst in her womb. So finally going through her albums has properly felt long overdue.
And wow. This album is just unreal.
The soundscapes on here are surreal. It feels peaceful, otherworldly, emotional and massive all at once. It doesn’t even feel like you’re just listening to songs half the time - it feels like the album is floating around you. That kind of atmosphere ... read more
That one point is only here because this album was made by a person and not AI. From the second it starts yelling “fuck all you hoes” and “ain’t nobody gonna tell me how to live,” you already know exactly how unbearable this is about to be. The lyrics are unbelievably corny, the whole thing feels like a 70-minute Facebook rant with guitars, and any chance of dumb fun gets completely buried under pure second-hand embarrassment. Like this album is so bad it's ... read more
Straight to my second favourite album of the year so far. Genuinely did not expect to like this as much as I do. I thought this would be one of those albums that gets critics frothing while I sit there bored out of my mind, but nah, this is really, really good.
What I like most is that it never feels overly wanky. It’s actually quite emotional, very textured, a bit weird in places, but still really easy to sink into. James Blake can sometimes make music that feels easier to admire than ... read more
I like BLACKPINK but what the hell is this EP.
After that long away, coming back with something this short and undercooked is shit. JUMP is the only track here that really feels alive; the rest ranges from bland to annoying.
For a comeback so long in the making, it should’ve been way better.

This might honestly be Jack’s best album.
There’s a clear new direction here, like I was kinda shook by how much he’s changed his music. He leans into a smoother, more soulful sound on this one, and I respect that a lot.
The problem is it can also feel a bit plain. For all the growth sonically, not enough songs really jump out, and the mellow mood starts to blur together after a while.
Still, I’d take this version of Jack over the blander pop-rap stuff any day.

This was the moment Jack Harlow really lost me. After the hype around him in 2020–21, this album felt so disapointing. Clearly he cared more about streams and money than quality.
Outside a couple obvious singles, the whole thing is just… bland. The beats are "big" but empty, the hooks feel designed for TikTok, and Jack sounds strangely disengaged for someone who was meant to be one of the most exciting rappers of this generation.
What’s most frustrating is you can ... read more
