Her relaxing melodies are a retreat — from more clattering forms of pop like rap and alternative rock, from the barrage of media and hype in contemporary culture, from the struggles and annoyances of daily life.

Shepherd Moons does have one key factor that's also carried over from Watermark -- it's quite good listening.

I am in awe of the atmosphere of this album. The highs are INSANELY high.

Part of me feels like I should be rating this higher than I am. While the vibe of this LP is fucking outstanding throughout, there are only a few tracks that I gravitate to outside of throwing on the entire album for a listen. Don’t get me wrong, every single song on here is good, it’s just that the special few that get to a transcendent level for me are literally so masterful, that, if I get a version of ... read more

Beauty and grace.

What a gorgeous album that's chalk full of magical serenity. Enya's voice is amazing and the vibes are so damn pure that not only am I transporting into another existence I am turning into a whole other being as I fall ever deeper into the world of this album.

Even though I see how people could really love this album, since it captures a similar vibe to Julee Cruise and early Grimes at points, it's also so so cheesy. This the shit they play at the whitest church services ever or in emotionally manipulative ads. It's especially egregious with the hymns on this album. However, there are some pretty great songs here and the dreamy atmosphere is pretty at least.

Best : Afer Ventus
Worst : No Holly For Miss Quinn
