Black Moth Super Rainbow - Eating Us

This is one of the only albums where I can confidently say that every song feels like it's exact placement on the album. The intro feels like the intro, the hit single feels like the hit single, so on and so on. I don't know what type of sauce they put into the production to do this but it all hits exactly how it needs to. If you haven't heard this, literally put on the first beat of American Face Dust and you'll feel like you've been through the entire album. If you like that, go and listen to ... read more

There's like two songs that don't just fuel the contemporary hip-hop universe where anyone outside of your group must die, you're at the helm of five shooters, you see more opps outside than grass, you exclusively hang out with future snitches, and all women twerk and charge they phone except your mom. I got everything I needed to from the writing in one listen, his vocals haven't seemed to improve at all, the production has no identity, and the mixing/mastering is pretty loud so it's hard on ... read more

Danny Brown - Quaranta

My favorite project by him so far, it's high frequency music for 34 minutes

EDIT (100>95): Tantor feels like his label made him do the high voice

I'll explain further if someone replies but for now I just want to see if someone agrees:

Fuck JPEGMAFIA's rapping

Alex G - DSU

If this was his only album it'd be a 65-70, but the overwhelming majority of the tracks aren't doing anything to be better than his previous work. That alone gives me pretty much no reason to listen to this except for Hollow and maybe Sorry and Promise.

It sounds like he went into every song with the exact same approach and compiled them into an album

edit [50>60]: everything still stands but I like it more

If you keep up with the promotional content for this album, you would expect it to be a concept album. If you didn't watch the trailer for the album, you most likely think this is a badly executed concept. Even if you did, it's a pretty hard concept to identify. To make the concept clearer, here's a full explanation.

F65 is a concept album within an already built world called Free Coast. I have to first explain Free Coast before even getting into the album.

Cape Coast, Ghana is where slaves ... read more

"I forgot to reply, it's not literal but he does make a few songs a lot worse than if Danny was just on it the whole time, mostly because he basically uses one flow for the whole album. Obviously the subject matter isn't too important on an album like this but he's still definitely a lot less funny than Danny on this as well. He has pretty formulaic lines (i.e "fuck you neighbors I feel like ___"), so much so that there's multiple instances of him basically repeating himself just from this album. I haven't listened to anything else from him so I don't know if he does this normally or not but it's pretty noticeable to me on here"

"Your Rabbit Stew explanation makes 1000% sense to me. I knew there was something to it cause no one really thinks of Rabbit Stew out of nowhere, puts it in a song, then names the song that. Especially in this album cause all of the titles are super relevant"
