You can tell JVB had fun making this album. Great beat selection, aggression and energy from front to back, strange; sometimes out of place bars and nonsense. The vibe here is fun, the head is banging, but without much of anything to say except for wacky one liners that often break up the song or ruin the vibe, there really isn't a lot keeping me here long term. Some good fun but not a lot of staying power imho

It's fine. Not loving it like everyone else, but I can't say it's all that bad. A few songs I quite enjoyed but the others just aren't for me lyrically or sonically. Willing to return in the future but right now; SMILE! :D is fine
(64->68) - A few of these songs are extremely catchy and I can't get rid of the sounds / hooks. Unfortunately, this is a very on and off album for me. About 4 of the songs are great and I keep coming back to them. The others make me turn ... read more
Denzel curry has set aside time to let the features shine on this project, choosing to primarily lend focus towards hooks and catchiness. The features more often than not do their job and then some, been a while since a project with so many features; and high quality ones at that. Despite this, Denzel still feels in control of the entire project with the aforementioned hooks. Even though I enjoy the features I can't help but feel as if we missed a few artists who could've worked ... read more
This is pretty sweet. Really like the quieter, cuter first part but the whole album just feels good to listen to. Shame the timing of the release, as lo-fi beats are prime studying tunes but it'll get some play after summer for sure. Sad to see a great creative go but best of luck to Gonnn in their future

As someone who doesn't participate in the events the sound of this album revolves around, also not generally part of the target audience for the sound/subject/experience of this album, I can confidently say... I get it. I completely get where this album is going and I think it does a phenomenal job at achieving the feeling of being a party girl, going out to the club every night to the point where you let it become yourself and feel... wrong when you fall out of that environment or experience a ... read more
Really enjoy this, it's chaotic industrial, punk sounds almost reminding me of atrocity exhibition at times weirdly, but I'm all here for it! Fun vocals and experimentation with the instrumentation, some songs do sound similar to one another but that's alright when the product is this entertaining and the project is short and palatable to begin with. First exposure to the group and one of few hardcore punk-rock albums I find myself enjoying, something really good here and looking ... read more
Masterfully crafted, ScHoolboy Q's BLUE LIPS is experimental and entertaining throughout its entire 56 minute run. There are two main complaints I have for this album. I don't like the album cover, for starters. Also, the experimental form taken on this album leads to a feeling of brevity with a lot of ideas, many sections of the album feel like they end too soon, sometimes before they're truly able to find a good start. This album presents a ton of great sounds; with clear time ... read more
Its very bloated. That's really my only big issue here. Although I'm not huge on Future's singing, I can appreciate the experimentation and effort, but I don't need so much of it. WE STILL DON'T TRUST YOU is a healthy switch from the first album, managing to feel distinct and different from the previous album, following a more synth-pop-y aesthetic. Metro does his thing, the production is amazing and future honestly sounds great at some points too. The features also work really well throughout. ... read more
Though I wasn't too interested at first in hearing a full album of what is effectively 1/4 of every other metro album, I did actually come away from this bagging quite a few bangers and very satisfied overall. This is an album of bangers(surprise!) and it manages that purpose very well. Looking at it now, I hadn't realized but Future has been in his best form recently since DS2 for me. Intro, Banger. Type shit, Banger. Cinderella, Banger. etc. Beats are fantastic and inventive from metro, and ... read more
It's 21 Savage alright. It's everything you'd expect it to be. Might've loved it if this was my introduction to his music... but it's not. 21 Savage played it very safe on this album, doing everything he knew worked before, so why wouldn't it work again? His flows are improved, but he sounds the questionable bars, classic adlibs, and great production are fully present throughout this album. Is it bad? No. Do I enjoy it? To an extent, but I'd love to see an ... read more
Jumping at the opportunity to show this album some love, although I generally prefer to give some time before consolidating thoughts. Reason being that just about all of the music I enjoy grew on me over time. However, I'm going to do this early in the hopes that somebody sees Wishlane while scrolling through new releases and decides to give this thing a try.
nobody's listening! is another impressive feat from Wishlane, following their previous album, Catch22, from 2022, an album ... read more
I'll be ignoring Kanye as a person, focusing on music here exclusively.
Honestly never been a big fan of Kanye in the past, with his greatest hits going largely under the radar for me in their time, (Ye was the first Kanye album I was privy to on release) so I have little to compare this to. I feel like samples and looping production are carrying peoples enjoyment of this album as in my opinion, the best part of a lot of these tracks are the beginnings, where the production is the spotlight ... read more
This is awesome. I've tried to listen to Yeat before, but found very little about him to be very interesting or worth coming back to. I was convinced he'd just be another rage artist that I don't really understand, but this album changed everything for me. Banger after banger after banger, it's so fun and honestly quite varied for the type of music it is. The rage scene has seen very little in versatility and personality since the recent blow-up of the subgenre, but Yeat manages to fix every ... read more
I think it's great. Loved the first few Scrapyard EP's and happy to see they've found themselves on a mixtape. I admittedly wasn't huge on a lot of the new songs on first listen, but almost every single one has grown dramatically on me in a matter of a few listens. Given Quadeca's methods on creating albums, I love the idea to release the loose singles or tracks that didn't fit the vision this way so fans still get to enjoy the songs the artist still believes ... read more
Listened to this one a lot recently. Been following heylog for a while now and happy to finally catch an album, especially one that provides such a satisfying listen. Seeing a lot of people complain about vocals. I find them never becoming as problem but the lyrics at times are weird or nonsense so I get that at least. That aside, this album is quite back heavy, with my returns sometimes just being the last half of the album, which is really good and the first half is no slouch in it's own ... read more
This album is fun. I get the sense that's the driving factor behind the recent releases from ericdoa, and i'm here for it. judging by the singles, I knew this would be a fun experience if it was anythying like the excitement of dancinwithsomebawdy. It's not the greatest tale ever told, nor is it a completely flawless masterpiece, but it's really fun to sink your teeth into and most listeners are bound to walk away with a few new songs to add to their playlist. It's good, not groundbreaking but ... read more
Fun instrumental palette used here, with some emotive vocals to go alongside. Always a great one to come back to and grab a few to throw on a playlist. Nothing extraordinary, but simple done well. Main complaints would be songs blending together and overall sounding quite similar to one another at times and I'm not a fan of the interludes at the end of some songs, which serve to ruin my personal enjoyment of the song itself.

Funky and fun at times, but really boring to me at others. Thundercat is built off of his skills with bass as a foundation and that foundation stands strong. Problem is that not a lot else does for me, the instrumentals are usually nice and all but carry varying weight track by track to me. Can't say I'm in love with this one but welcome to subjectivity.
