Fantastic modern ambient record. There's plenty of extremely memorable tracks, but there's also a few duds here and there. Overall, still great though.
Fav Tracks: Endless Summer, Made in Hong Kong, Happy Audio
Out of all the Disintigration Loops, I think I enjoy this one the most. I don't know; it just feels good. I should preface I'm talking about Dlp 6 here. It's just a great synthscape and there's something about its fading and wavering towards the middle and end that I think best showcases the fragility of these loops.
It's not on the level of Yellow House, but hey, this is another quality release of Tracks from Grizzly Bear. With singles like Two Weeks, how could you go wrong honestly?
Fav Tracks: Two Weeks, Fine for Now, Ready, Able, While You Wait for the Others
It's definitely Grizzly Bear, but many of the tracks here just aren't memorable unfortunately. Maybe it'll grow on me some day, but for now it's just kinda disappointing coming from these guys.
Fav Tracks: Sleeping Ute, Gun-Shy
A record of sprawling beauty and grace, its amazing to think this was recorded in a house and not some beautiful cathedral. Songs like Colorado feel exactly like being stuck on the top of the frigid yet awe inspiring Rocky Mountains, while Knife is a great catchy turn towards the middle of the record. It's a must listen if you're a folk fan.
Fav Tracks: Colorado, Lullaby, Reprise, Knife, Easier
Right when you think he can't get any better, Danny drops what might be one of the best hip hop records of the decade. What a legend.
An appealing record, but personally I think the Books lose some of the magic of their sound on this one. The sense of mystery and overall strangeness isn't as striking, but it's still a unique listen.
I didn't think this record was going to be as great as it is, but wow; this easily is one of the most impressive releases of the year so far. The sound on this record is just so much more beefier and depressive compared to their last effort, with tracks like Anxiety coming down with that awesome synth lead and great lyrics from frontman Matt Flegal. The real winner on this record is the diverse cut Memory, with the band channeling their inner New Order to make what might be the track of the ... read more
There's not too much to say about this one, but if you're in the mood for some good moody indie rock with a post-punk twist, give this record a go.
(By the way, this record may be worth the listen just to here the song Death which possibly is one of the best songs of this decade)
Fav Tracks: Continental Shelf, Death
If the Unicorns released at least two more records, we would be talking about Who Will Cut Or Hair When We're Gone with reverence. It's a truly one of the most unique indie pop/rock records since the unicorns are able to craft such a unique sound with so little. Not to mention, the song writing is abosolutely genius, with each song changing and remaining ever so catchy and memorable. A true classic.

22, A Million is obviously a step in a more interesting and experimental direction for Justin Vernon, and while it certainly isn't one of the best folktronica records out there, it has plenty of sounds that I still enjoyed. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of half baked ideas here that can be heard on songs like 10deathbreast, but there's still moments of absolute genius that people enjoy Bon Iver for.
Fav Tracks: Creek, 33 "God", 8 (circle)
This easily is one of the most hyped up records of this decade. I went into this thing expecting something wonderful, but left feeling sort of cheated. It starts off with three very solid opening tracks, with Perth and Holocene being possibly the two best cuts off the record, both of which are stunning, but all that follows is just mediocrity. If you go into this with little to no expectations, maybe you'll like it more than I did.
An album that changes how you view pop music. Sure, it can be a bit challenging at first, but after repeated listens it begins to soak in that you're listening to pure genius.
Fav Tracks: Summer Babe, Trigger Cut, In the Mouth a Desert, Here, Perfume V, Our Singer
Surprisingly satisfying record from the two giants.
Fav Tracks: Home, Everything That Happens, Life is Long, Strange Overtones
I went into this album thinking Japandroids were gonna be right up my alley, but unfortunately I feel most of these tracks don't hit as hard as they think they are and all the "WOAH"s throughout the album just feel lazy. While there's definitely some highlights on here, like Fire's Highway, that just simply work, I can't help but feel a little underwhelmed by this record.
28 tracks have never gone by so quickly for me. Almost all of them have interesting ideas and sticky choruses, but I just wish that some concepts were a little better developed.
This album pretty much has everything I love about Animal Collective, and while some of the ideas may not fully developed, the album still delivers despite its short length.
Super disappointing record from Deerhunter. While there's some truly genius moments on here like the catchy 'Breaker' and 'All the Same', these moments are too few and far between.
Fav Tracks: All the Same, Breaker, Living My Life, Snakeskin
Least Fav Track: Leather and Wood
Another fun, raw, and catchy LP from Black Lips. The production isn't as good as Arabia Mountain, but the songs are just all around more fleshed out and replayable.
Fav Tracks: I Saw a Ghost (Lean), Veni Vidi Vici, It Feels Alright, Bad Kids
Least Fav Track: Lock and Key
