I’m gonna be honest, I fully expected to be disappointed in this from the other reviews. And although I agree this is one of his weakest albums, it’s still jpegmafia. Yeah he’s gonna fuck someone’s bitch for the 700th time but at this point I’m just hear for the insane production and flows. There are some really disappointing songs though. Especially since I met ye where it feels extremely out of character for someone like jpegmafia who has a very “I ... read more
For my 200th review I think I should give some respect to the other half of my nationality.
I’ve never really been interested in Japanese music, most songs felt very similar to me, and I was only ever attracted by a stray vocaloif song very now and then. But this is awesome. I’m don’t even really remember how I found this. I just did and I love it. It’s a really good vibe and I really really recommend this if you want to get into Japanese music but aren’t used to ... read more
Ladies and gentlemen gentlemen. We used to pray for times like this.
I’m about to go to sleep so this will be short.
The production has a slight hint of Yeezus and vultures one, while still being its own thing and giving us GOOD KANYE PRODUCTION YESSSS
HONESTLY ITS NOT EVEN AMAZING ITS JUST THAT HE FINALLY MADE SOMETHING GOOD AGAIN IM DO HAPPYYYYY
I lost control sorry no essay long review for you
better than half blood. Which is crazy considering he was already pushing the envelope with how far rage could go with half blood.
still though, i need more than one artist to show that rage can be more than a repetitive genre.
Imagine having the talent to make rage actually sound really good
I don’t like rage a lot, I think it’s naturally one of the more uninspiring genres out there. But slayr is different. He’s willing to try something completely new and bring rage to its highest potentials. I still want to see more out of the rage genre. But this is a real step towards greatness.
Please just let jim Johnston make the music again. It was so good.
I feel like this is being overhated because people’s standards for jpegmafia are too high. I really enjoyed all the songs here.
(Rating based on new songs and ignoring the old songs)
Some of the songs feel more randomly thrown together than the original album, but I still really love the vibe of most songs.
I mean I guess the chorus is kinda catchy, but everything else is just the most uninspired and boring song ever. It tries to be unique but feels like any other indie song that thinks they’re better than they are.
I don’t really know how to describe this album, it’s just a vibe that also happens to have really emotional moments. Songs like wassup really emphasizes the club elements of the album, and is made to make you dance, while songs like disco tommorow really focus on the lyrical prowess that he has.
And songs like the party song or myself mixes those 2, which makes for an amazing expierience because you can simultaneously feel the artist while also having a great time. It’s ... read more
my last 3 albums have been recommended to me by a friend, cranium. and holy fucking shit you are 3 for 3 my dude.
I'm gonna be completely honest, this album almost made me cry. Wetdream is a hard album to describe, as it is as chaotic as it is enjoyable. It conveys emotions that can only be described as raw, and unfiltered.
Exploring topics such as lost love, substance abuse, and suicide. BUT I think that the production is easily the best part of the album. From beginning to end, it is ... read more
Wow this is awesome, honestly I love this just for the energy but the story really works too.
The sounds and energy is truly something I needed to hear. And it’s amazing the whole way through. I always thought I could never get traditional instruments in music, and I was destined to be a fan of more modern sounding albums with hip hop type beats, but once again an album has proved me wrong. Because truly every beat this album chooses gives an entirely different energy while still keeping ... read more
Part of me wishes this was a fully instrumental album, because the production alone blow my mind, and the lyrics sometimes take me out of it. And I think sometimes there’s to much vibrancy to the whole thing, it’s great sometimes, but sometimes I literally don’t even know what I’m listening to.
But holy shit this album is so good. It is not an understatement to say this I’ll change your life. I don’t find it as great as some people do, (which is wild to say ... read more
I didn’t know music could get this good
Ok I listened to the album I have give my actual opinion: it’s good, not groundbreaking, but considered he has dedicated himself to making peak music it must be hard to try and make something else
Is it weird that I like this album and hate the rest of his discography? Probably.
why is westside gunn obsessed with the million dollar man someone fill me in
