This album was an all around fun experience no question about it. You can say the theme is all over the place, which is often times a negative thing for me, but Charli's execution was good enough to not downgrade it too much for me. The production on this project was top notch, and is definitely the biggest highlight all around. The vocals on here are funky, often times enjoyable but sometimes the auto tune was poorly incorporated with the desired flow Charli was aiming for.
Without a doubt a terrible EP, but it is just slightly overhated. Instrumentals were generic, but not too bad to hear, and Trippie Redd was sometimes able to have relatively decent vocals. Other than that, everything else was just horrendous. The theme of this project is so unbearably corny I couldn't even hold my laugh in at times. Talking about mental health issues like a 13 year old boy just doesn't do it to me. MGK's performance in all aspects was just bad, genuinely ... read more
The production is immaculate, truly the best I've heard on any album that has come out this year. James Blake's vocals are pretty good too, definitely compliment the all around theme of this project, although they felt kind of too 'draggy' at times for my taste. The all around delivery on this album was extraordinary, although there were slight inconsistencies here and there. For instance, the biggest highlights for me were 'Doesn't Just Happen' and 'Feel ... read more
The storytelling on this album is fantastic; J. Cole walks you through the rise to fame on the first disc, and the consequences of the same fame in the second one. His flow is solid as well; he is able to go in line with the decent production and make most of the songs memorable to some extent. However, the only problem I had with the album was that it was too long. Even if Cole had a lot to say for his final album, I think most of the tracks on the second disc could have been made shorter than ... read more
This is my second encounter with Nettspend's music, and honestly I am positively surprised with this album compared to 'Bad Ass Fucking Kid'. The production on this project certainly matches the rage-kind of sound Nettspend has become one of the most prolific faces of. Unlike in the 2024 mixtape, his vocals seem to be more clear and consistent, but they are still way too messy for my liking, but that comes down to my personal preference and not his shortcoming. All around theme ... read more
