There's no way. Genuinely.
Never Enough caught me so off guard, like Kid Rock, I s**t my pants.
I also don't know why I listened to this whole album.
To be honest, I was a little skeptical about this album due to how I felt with the last. However, I feel like 6lack found his true sound, honestly. LITNG was a more mature album than what we're mostly subscribed to- however, it's done well. It had me coming back to relisten to a lot of the songs on this album, which is hard to admit for most albums. The features were not all perfect, however for the most part they not only work but add to the music.
I think this was the vision he had ... read more
Honestly nevermind.
I went into this trilogy with a clear mind, I gave it a chance. After all is said and done, I can completely say that the majority of Drake's music is literally the same with different beats. It's basically crooning to the point the Island Boys are jealous. On top of that, there are at least 5 songs in here that are going to be on 2K. It sounds like 2K music, honestly. Almost like setting a roster, and listening to something (probably Janice STFU), going to the ... read more
I'll give the album this: the beats were really great for something so off-putting. I had some sort of fun with about four songs here, then like dust in the wind it vanished. With that being said, it's nowhere close to great.
I had to rewrite this review, simply because it's grown on me. On my first listen, it wasn't as special- some parts sounded off, some of the tracks didn't feel like they belonged, etc. I've completely reversed my position of the middle of the album. On a second, third and fourth listen, especially with the lyrics being present, the story created throughout the album is a masterpiece. However, it's far from perfect, and to an extent, a little worse than previous ... read more
Looking forward to reviewing the whole album when it comes out. Interesting single, it's quite nice.
I'll be honest: the reason it's low is because of the production. In terms of what I liked about this album was pretty much only "Crash" and "The Streets." The rest are borderline unlistenable or a skip. For contingency purposes, it's not as bad as the other unmentionables that I reviewed, however for me 6lack's "Since I Had A Lover" is marginally better than this. Still mid F-tier, mostly due to the low effort mixed with shotty production.
I don't like the production of this album, I'll say that right off the bat. Some of the tracks on here are grainy for the opposite reason it should be. I'll give 6lack props on attempting to change the sound of his work, however for the majority of the songs on here it was no good. "Fatal Attraction" would be my favorite on this album had it not been for the weird production- but "Inwood Hill Park" is a very good song to listen to. As much as this is a R&B ... read more
This was a good album. Ironically, on his last song in this album, he says something to the effect of "I don't want to be known for one thing," which is kind of what happened here. "PRBLMS" was the best song on this album but at least five others join it as consistent playing time on my playlist. The album isn't perfect by any stretch, but it's a solid listen for the most part, more of a B or a B minus tier.
A lot left to be desired; for the most part the non-differing rhythms and melodies makes it more unlistenable. As cool as a name of Serpent Devourment is, it in my opinion fell somewhat flat. I may change this later on a second listen.
Look, I'd rate this higher, but we as a community need to keep this at 69. We all know why.
Also, still, this EP is better produced and sounds more complete than YBN Nahmir's "Visionland," and that dude actually made an attempt.
Still better than YBN Nahmir's "Visionland," so there's that. I audibly cackled at the dream part that I got police called on me from my neighbors.
It's a one-dimensional, no passion mess- with differing production throughout. A lot of this is Tik Tok music and it shows- it drove me insane.
Almost looking in a time capsule, "House of Balloons" is one of The Weeknd's best albums. A lot of these songs still hold weight 14 (yes, 14!) years later. There really isn't much more to say about it- it's a near perfect album. It's a horribly fun, intensely ugly, nightmare banger-filled album that basically set him up for success.
(P.S. if you're wondering why the scores are so all over the place with the other albums, this one is the reason why).

A lot of these songs were quite simple. Minus 'Gone', there was a lot of potential with these tracks, however "Thursday" was overshadowed by it's other two albums on "Trilogy".
Had it not been for 'Rolling Stone' or 'The Zone', this would probably be last, however with some other songs being ok, its an average album. I probably won't rate it lower than "Kiss Land," but it's high-C and low B-tier.
