album was just a big meh specifically after the first 5 tracks or so

this is my second listen and as i’m on the end of pyramids i’ve been really enjoying some of the electronic noise and those angelic piano keys in conjunction with the drums makes for an amazing experience

never thought i’d smile to an alex g album since the stigma around his music so melancholic

didn’t really see the appeal of shoegaze back in the day however the last couple of tracks definitely saved this ep

remember when the first girl i actually loved recommended this to me, hits harder when you actually have something that u can authentically reminisce on

had me reminiscing about HERR BROO

some aspects of certain tracks were really good nothing that was amazingly euphonic or praise worthy is what i thought when i first listened to it but on my second listen ive realized i like this a lot more

the intro was beautiful and had me in genuine awe

the album really shines throughout the middle, notably chum which will be on replay for the entire month is something that really hit home for me

to angels collabing to make an amazingly blissful song, really hope they make an album together

this wave of like indie bedroom pop artist never disappoints the vocals are there and flow nicely with the instruments

some of these songs were cool but for the most part the album itself didn’t flow very well but the lyrics were very heartfelt and had me reminiscing

i felt like there was something i missed when hearing this album for the first time and once i came back to it everything finally clicked

individually the songs were cool especially tile by tile that shit was heaven sent but collectively there really wasn’t a sense of direction that i could see on my first listen, everything was just kinda out there all at once without a buildup which can be cool if done right

the vocalist killed it on every track and with the guitars plus some electronic noise made me feel like a little boy doing snow angles on a hiemal day

for what it is it does it’s job, however the first 4 tracks on the album were the backbone of it all because after that it really doesn’t get anywhere near as good, more repetitive than anything but u did enjoy the seamless transitions throughout the entire thing and some of my favorite shoegaze songs are on here so it’s hard to give it anything lower as a year ago on my original listen i would have some of them on replay all day rotting in my bedroom as one does
