I am positively surprised because I thought that apart from Frontschwein there was nothing else in the Marduk discography. Especially "bleached bones" "bloodletting" "To the death's head true". They made a big impression on me. Lowering the strings was also a good idea, it sometimes gives a sludge-metal effect, which is a plus.
One of his first music videos, you can see they had a small budget but despite that they managed to make a really cool uncomfortable image.
Boże to CGI jest tak toporne ale ma to mimo wszystko swój pewien klimat.Mocno widać takie polskie lata 90
It's a good album, but for me, their peak was 16 years later when they released Frontschwein. It has a few cool compositions, but overall, the songs are very much the same, very repetitive compositionally. A definite plus, and something I've always liked about their work, are the sounds of war (probably from some archive recordings from World War II). The title perfectly fits what we'll hear here: BLOOD, MUD, DEATH AND TANKS
Not as post-black and experimental as Nocel, but still a really good album that I will definitely come back to.
At times dirty guitars, with post-metal motifs and calmer atmospheric passages. Sudden tempo changes appear in the most unexpected moments.
What stands out the most is the dense atmosphere. In the mix, the guitars do not clash with the drums it may be a small detail, but it makes a difference. The drums sound very good.
The vocals are full of passion and emotion. The vocalist comes across as authentic. The Polish language fits this album very well. There are not only typical black metal ... read more
First listen to the album Age of Excuse by Mgła
The final score is currently 80, but I feel like that could change. Compositionally, this album is brilliantly done. The atmosphere is also incredible. I need to listen to it more.
Favorite song on it is definitely "Age of excuse Vl".
A bit irritating, especially when I'm eating dinner and suddenly I hear bowel sounds. There's not much of the guitar itself, which was very catchy when it was there, but there clearly wasn't enough of it.

Damn good blackened death metal with some minor elements of dissonant death metal. I'll definitely check out the rest of their discography in the future.

The vocals are fantastic, as are the riffs and overall dynamics. My biggest problem is with the computer drums; sometimes I feel like my eardrums are going to burst. Pure hatred and aggression. An interesting blend of death metal and terrorcore.
First impression: the vocals don’t click with me right away, the screams are quite difficult to take in.
Compositionally, the album feels very complex at times almost prog-metal in approach, which is surprising, since I had thought this kind of playing only really developed after around 2010.
I struggle to give it a clear-cut evaluation. On the one hand, the album is not weak at all instrumentally it’s on a very high level. The bass in certain moments (for example in Hell to Pay) ... read more
Cool Synths especially in "The Nail" something beautiful but I think they haven't shown their full potential on this debut yet. We'll see in the next albums.
Overall, this album didn't move me in any way. It was okay, but the songs were definitely too long, a bit too monotonous for me. There's probably some hidden beauty and finesse to it, but I just don't see it.
