-I love such inserts at the beginning of each song and since we know that the album is about World War I, it helps us feel the atmosphere even more
-German fits this type of music perfectly.
My main issue with the new Behemoth and their latest album is the production. The difference is very noticeable, especially when comparing concerts from around 2010 to those from 2022–2024. Back then the sound was raw, sharp, and aggressive. Even when it was meaty it still cut through and had grit and a sense of danger.
Nowadays the sound is much fatter and heavier, but also polished and smooth. The drums, in particular, have become very clean since Opvs Contra Natvram there has been a ... read more
Tha Doggfather is a major letdown after Doggystyle.
The album feels long, monotonous, and mostly forgettable. Snoop sounds distant and bored, and without Dr. Dre, the production lacks character and energy. The only standout track is 2001 showing what this album could have been, but the rest fades into the background.
What a groove, vibe.I don't know what this nigga is rapping about, although I can guess. Despite everything, it's a great listen. It took me a long time to finally listen to it, but I finally did. This album is the definition of G-funk
This is the type of music that's great to listen to; you don't have to get into it or focus on it because it just flows. Besides, it lifted my spirits.
I finally got around to listening to this album, and it's good that I managed to do so before the end of the year. But this album is just a monotonous wall of sound with a few irritating saxophone inserts It had a few interesting moments, but it was hard to really pick them up because the songs were too long. Nothing about this album captivated me.
I admit that as a fan of death metal Behemoth, I was prejudiced against this album, and against Behemoth's early black metal work in general. I'm listening to it now, and it's a truly interesting album, a good listen, especially from the perspective of where Behemoth has been since. I really like the vocals of the young Nergal, though they're still technically unpolished, but they have their charm.
I really enjoyed listening to it, there wasn't a weak song on it.
The songs are clearly too long. 6 MINUTES WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT? Plus those bridges, I think there were two or three minute-long keyboard songs. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?? KRAFTWERK? I don't think so, but they do sound like that. Damn, guys, I understand you wanted to experiment after 20 years of playing groove metal, but please, not like this. Overall, the album was pretty decent, but it had a few weird, totally un-Slipknot moments.
I'm not a big fan of power metal, but I have to admit that Helloween stands out. The album had its good dynamic moments but is a bit repetitive.
Hmm, what can I write here? Well, not much, it simply blew me away. This album is a must-listen, but if you love juicy blast beats, this is for you. The album is complete, I haven't heard anything this good in a long time.
Thank you so much for the recommendations @necropawgist
