I spent 85 hours meticulously crafting this track, trying to reach as close to perfection as I could possibly achieve. In that way I guess the story of producing this track aligns really closely to the story I actually tell in the song! Potential, ambition, a flight into the fire. Heaven.

This is absolutely the most dense sound wall I've ever been hit by in my life... just wow, what a cathartic scream of sound, terrifying and comforting simultaneously. The lyrics are also remarkably well thought-out, even if they're intensely buried in the mix. The vocals are so drowned out, with an effect that makes them seem practically alien. There are a few really interesting mixing choices here that set this apart from an average shoegaze song though, like the bitcrushed singing and guitars-- which just added to the otherworldly feel.
Overall the song really just ... read more
This album is filled to the brim with interesting ideas and riffs, but often Spiritualized sounds like they're drowning in their own sound, overwhelmed by it. Still, if I had to choose a sound to drown in, this album would not be a bad choice.
