Decent background album with a surprisingly good 2nd half. I love the production on this. The violin work is very enjoyable.
My GOD this is distorted. I can feel my ears shake when I listen to this.
Thoughtful gritty hip hop that maintains a cynical tone by contrasting the ugly side of reality with humour. First album to get me with a deez nuts joke.
The worse half of ‘Legacy+’. This is not bad, but it tries too hard to modernise afrobeat through production and other elements. It over complicates the music and ends up distracting from the quality. It’s definitely an interesting release though.
Fascinatingly fractured and broken folk-rock inspired songs. Very atmospheric, 'drone-y', and psychedelic sounding
Everything I said about their other release - 'Happy Shapes' applies here. This is just an underwhelming collection of it's less fleshed out B-sides. I guess this is the middle child...
Emotional indie rock with some amazing guitar tones and vast soundscapes. I don’t like her voice though.
Once you get past the excessively breathy voice, there are some awesome spacious psychedelic space rock familiarities to be enjoyed. I wish there was a bit more definition to the tracks. Also, I don’t know how I feel about ‘Had Enough Blues’.
This has an amazing atmosphere and a very unique and interesting sound. It reminds me of a chilled out (or sedated) Oliver Tree with more intricate instrumentation and beats. The guy can't sing but I feel that helps strengthen the album's mood.
Ambient compositions with a cool and breezy jazz feel. Sounds like a condensed more focused version of ‘Fresh Bread’ but because of that, it lacks some of the electronic features that would have made it more varied and interesting.
Very grand and epic metal songs. there are some very cool moments where it opens up. Unfortunately it's not that consistent. Also, I know its a part of the aesthetic, but the guys voice is terrible.
Amazing instrumentation, production, and songwriting. Interesting and thoughtful lyrics. The other elements aren’t great. Sounds like it looks, but also has some crescendos. I don’t feel like I ‘get’ the album. I’ll definitely be coming back to this again.
This album is too many things. So much stuff is crammed in every second of this without any real reason for it. It’s not bad, just comes off as amateur and feels like a sensory overload at times. Cool concept though. I totally get the appeal.
Beautifully constructed and well instrumented art pop. Good first few tracks, the rest aren’t great.
Sounds like a musical theatre adaptation of Nick Cave. I can’t decide if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. ‘Fool In The Heart’ is a gorgeous song.
Pretty good Bluegrass and Folk. This has some real highlights but wears out its welcome quickly.
