Thank you guys SO MUCH for 50 followers, that’s INSANE!

I thought that to celebrate the occasion, I would take an in depth look at one of my personal favourite albums and one that changed my perspective on what makes ‘good music’.

‘And the king saves the day, but the king dies today’

‘King’s Mouth’ by The Flaming Lips is an album that evolved from an art installation in their ‘Womb Gallery’ in Oklahoma City. It most notably ... read more

I LOVED their album last year. Their style is so fresh, vibrant, colorful, and bright. The use of harps and glitches and 'plinks and plonks' keep their trap-future-garage-dance music unique, captivating, and exciting. On this release they are freer to experiment and end up with more abstract tracks that lean towards the trap side. This is a more spacious experience. RamonPang continues to be one to watch!

Highlights: 'Mondegreen', 'Loud and Tranquil', and 'World Checkpoint'

Owwch. That was fun!

I really enjoyed their last LP. Their take on industrial hip-hop was enjoyably energetic and catchy. The compression on here is absurd and the loudness is SO extreme. The energy is CRAZY. It's all delivered with such aggression. Harsh, crushing, and funny bangers. It's frantically paced abrasive noise. The rapping has improved. A crazy listen.

Highlights - 'FORBES LIST', 'FREAKOUT', 'NIGHTMARE', and 'BNE'

This is quite fun. Just a short bit of messing around. I liked it's oddness. It's o incoherent, loose, and directionless it's cohesive. It functions as one full weird and trippy experience. I came out confused, but definitely enjoyed listening to it! It was great to hear them experimenting like this!

I enjoyed their last album 'I'm All Ears' - It's vibrant neon coloured synthpop was punchy and memorable. I particularly enjoyed the psychedelic qualities of the more 'vibey' songs like 'Donnie Darko'. The former mood is kept on here. This also has great loud walls of sound and compressed drumbeats. PHENOMENAL production! But the song progressions are missing here - which surprised me. It doesn't sound as unique - it's more predictable. Sure it's a bright and fun time, but I found myself easily ... read more

This is so beautiful and smooth! The chill atmosphere contrasts with the in your face production style and makes for one of his best releases. The deeply digital aesthetic is oddly soothing. His fractured beats are as addictive as ever. Everything is well paced - it feels like a collage of ideas - everything is concise and efficient. It conveys a moment and then it's on to the next one. It's not overwhelming - it feels like one big experience.

I'm just going to go to 1950 because it gets messy and confusing the further back you go... and this site seems to stop there as well.
