This is my favorite album of all time. I could probably write volumes on what it means to me and the intricacies of each song. Perhaps I will one day. For now though, I just want everyone to know that this album is the pinnacle. The storytelling, the production, the VOCALS, the everything is perfect. Kelela knows exactly what she's doing. If for some reason this album hasn't dug its claws into you yet, turn all the lights off, press play, and let it move your body without you seeing it. The ... read more

An ok mix from Disclosure. It’s all very pleasant and flows well, but it never makes much of an impression.

Anz is one of the most exciting artists in dance these days. Her new ep for Ninja Tune is a succinct display of her talent and knack for making interesting, yet accessible dance music. This release is her most straightforward yet, but is no less innovative and exciting than her previous work. The ep is a great introduction to her work, as well as to George Riley’s given her awesome performance on “You Could Be”. If you dig this definitely check out Anz’ annual ... read more

Short but so very sweet.

Where is the news and the media?!? This album is boundlessly fun and exhilarating. Using samples of traditional Scottish, English, and Gaelic folk songs, Proc Fiskal has created a grime album that sounds like no other grime album. These songs are buoyant and sneakily catchy. Even when the words are nowhere near discernible, you'll find yourself singing along. It feels like the UK's answer to Foodman's album from earlier this year, also out on Hyperdub (they're having another banner year over ... read more

And Then Life Was Beautiful, Nao's third album, is her lightest and perhaps most accessible work. She has moved beyond the wonky funk and electronics of her debut, as well as from the soaring synths and vocal effects of Saturn. This album is much more "organic" in its instrumentation, though Nao's voice is still the star of the show. Her voice clearly shines on any and all production. She elevates this slight guitar-based tunes into hard hitting and affective R&B. While most of ... read more

Hey there! I’m making a community list for the end of the world, and I would love for you to contribute.

“The surrounding buildings, in ruins. The last survivors, scrambling to find anything that remains. Fire flickers in the pitch-black, creating just a sliver of radiance. Miraculously, you find an old device that can play music. You can only play one album as the battery is nearly dead. Knowing that you have little time left, what is the one album that you choose to listen to as you watch the world crumble before your eyes?”

The album topic could discuss a disastrous time, its sound could fit the vibe of a post apocalyptic setting, or it could be one of your favorite albums that you would want to experience for the last time.

Please provide the artist, album, and an explanation as to why you chose that specific album.

Thank you for reading <3

Here’s the list:
