This is horribly mediocre. The main problem for me is the riffs. I think i have forgiven Obituary in the past too much with the ultra simple riffs. As a tech death lover this just gets reaalllyy boring. The album cover is actually really cool. Its almost like a Bell Witch or like a Humanity's Last Breath album cover.
As much as a i wanna hate this, i have to that its actually really solid! Its not as good as Litourgiya and this is NOT the real Batushka. Its more mainstream but i like to just say that it is its own thing... kind of...? The songs are easier to decode the guitar of on this than Litourgiya or Panihida so thats pretty nice.
This is great! Its dark, its heavy and its evil! I don`t really understand the hate that Dimmu Borgir gets nowadays. The only con about this album is its length. It could have been waaaayyy shorter for sure.
This is the heaviest album FF has done. I was not a FF fan in 2010, but i can only imagne how shocked people would have been when they heard the first song on this album. After the Alternative Groove Metal album of Transgression i think fans were expecting another non heavy release. But who am i to assume, i was not even alive in 2010. But yeah this is right now probably my favorite FF album. The outro also stands out a lot. FF are known to make emotional and melodic outros. And "Final ... read more
I sometimes like to listen to this album and just pretend that its not FF. Because it makes it less weird. I think this is a great album, but its nothing like any other FF album. Supernova and Echo of my Scream is like alt rock, and Transgression is just thrash with a really bad sounding snare drum and some growls. But besides the snare its actually a great record, but its not Fear Factory.
Favorite songs: New Promise, Transgression and Supernova.
Worst song: I Will Follow
Fear Factory´s comeback to heaviness now nearly without the industrial part. I think this is a great album. If i were to introduce somebody to FF then i would show them this album (maybe besides Demanufacture). Some of the riffs are a bit weird on songs like "Undercurrent" and "Default Judgement". But other than that the song are pretty consistent with the FF signature riffs. This is a stepdown from Digimortal and Obsolete, but its microscopical.

Out of the OG FF records this is my favorite. Its really not that heavy except for on the track "Byte Block". It is really groovy and also really "Confident" like Burton has a certain courage in his voice. I love the track with B-Real. But yeah its a really good record. Sadly with a kind of bitter backstory.
Favorite songs: Byte Block, Damaged and Digimortal
Worst song: Hurt Conveyor
aaaand it gets even better with this one. One of my favorite parts of FFs music is their melodic choruses, and this album has a lot of it. It introduced the so called "Dino Chorus", and its kind of just... If you think of like "Linchpin" and "Roboticist". And said choruses are really nice to play on guitar. Speaking of guitar, this is probably the album where the tracks are the biggest pains in the asses to play (said in a Borat type voice). Not because that its ... read more
This is the album that my mom showed poor little 10 year old me on a fateful evening in 2023. And i fell in love. Not really on the first part of the album, but mostly "Pisschrist" "Hunter-Killer" and "A therapy For Pain" Later that year i got to go to a concert with them, and when they played "Zero Signal" i cried, so i have a kind of "personal relationship" with this album. But anywayy this is still not one of my favorite albums from them.

This album is GREAT. Its not my favorite FF album, but FF is my favorite band. Mostly all the tracks go hard, but it can be a bit repetitive in the end. Its a weird but beautiful blend of Grindcore and industrial music which only FF can do. And this is the only album which is like that.
Favorite songs: Scapegoat, Self Immolation and Scumgreif
Least fav track: Manipulation
Overall pretty fun album. It has great vocals, and that generic thrash attitude that i love. But there is something about the production that really bothers me. I think its the fact that there is not much low end on the bass and guitars. But other than that its pretty neat.
Horrible and i love it. When he sits on that "throne" its max cringe, but yeah thats just how its supposed to be.
While its definetly one of their worst works, it still holds up. Its not Amorphis as in Circle of Time or Elegy Amorphis. Its something diffrent. And its not bad. "Evil Inside" is arguably one of their best tracks. But its nothing like their other albums still.
Im actually quite fond of this. The lead singer could put on some shoes tho.
