its competently made, self aware in its corniness, and doesnt overstay its welcome. it doesn't try to be anything more than a few fun songs, which it does pretty well. its pretty derivative of the rest of the rage underground, but i didnt expect a debut ep from a 12 year old girl to revolutionise the music scene.
i think a lot of people are judging this album more on its contextual information, like North Wests relation to Kanye, to see the ep musically as it is.
she says the word like she cant say the word even though she can say the word
Sounds like the soundtrack to an alien city...

Dont get fooled by this albums title- because this is the furthest thing from the natural, comforting theme the cover presents. Instead, the album combines the fun but casual groove of post punk and dance-punks rhythms (think lcd soundsystem, or the talking heads) with the feeling of getting hit by a 50 ton truck. This album is bipolar with how it swings from minimal to "holy fuck what is going on" in a second, and its ... read more
it works surprisingly well considering its an acoustic cover of a djent/alt metal song
this song is a fucking disaster. the solo is so out of place, the lyrics are so ass, and the instrumental is so corny and over the top, to the point i feel embarrassed listening to it. but its so generic it loops around into being fun.
at least they werent taking themselves so seriously like they did on every other song on the album
its just a more boring worse version of the original lol why does this exist. tbf its got a vibe to it, but it doesnt justify how much of a downgrade it is to the original. also fuck this tiktok ass trend of shifting the tempo of songs, its just dumb as hell
as much as im not completely in love with this single as much as i am with femtanyls other music, it makes me really excited about the direction shes going in. before, whilst all her songs were really good, they all ended up being pretty derivative of eachother, but this has been a massive development of her style, even if i believe it could still be refined.
its fun. nothing special to be honest, but its nice for an actually good hip house album to be released in recent time. its not too surprising that tyler went full pop rap and dance with this project, since his last few albums (cmiygl and chromokopia) have ventured into the fun braggadocio that a lot of his early works spirited. im glad it wasnt hyped to shit like chromakopia was tho, as then it would have far too high expectations for it to be something it wasnt.
genuinely one of peggys best features. compare it to his feature on vengeance (still a goated song), and it blows it out the park. its rlly fun and catchy, with the energy i expect with a JV&B song, and its pretty difficult to pull off a song like this without it being cringey to the point its awkward to listen to (im looking at u, bbno$...)
being fr it exceeded my expectations, but thats only because of how lifeless most of drakes newer music is. however, this song tries to be a hype song (at least i think), but still suffers from the same shit that SSSFU suffers from, and thats that its sleepy as shit. the song aint too bad, but ive never been less hyped for an album in my life, since its lead single thats suppose to hype up the rollout is this boring.
also drake is farrrrr too old to be saying the same shit he usually does. ... read more
genuinely rlly good, but i cant help feel like it sounds a little superficial. its very pretty sounding, but this song embodies an aesthetic and doesnt do a whole lot more than that. especially considering how corny the marketing for this song use to be
its rare for a remix to so drastically change the feel of an album, and here, i think it fits PERFECTLY. i never thought a deluxe where all the songs sound sickly smooth would fit an album as full on and chaotic as this one, but even though in concept i would have thought this would be a pathetic money grab, i cant deny it sounds amazing. however, i still miss the distorted unintelligible noisyness of the original. this version does feel less raw.
