Best Alt-Rock album I've listened to in so long, it's perfect and special to me in so many ways, Julia's song writing is amazing along with her beautiful vocals paired with Scro's production makes for a refreshing listen where each track holds it's own uniqueness yet upholds the consistency throughout the record from the explosive 'Kill You Off' to the solemn outro 'You've Lost A Lot of Blood' every song on "PRESSURE" can appeal to a ... read more
My first introduction to Sematary & Ghost Mountain, different but a good kind of different.
Whilst some of the features such as Pa Salieu and Unknown T are not to my liking, "CAPRISONGS" is a multi-genre mixtape which hits the nail on the head when it comes to a collective of various genres which do not flow together, FKA Twigs succeeds by fuelling the energy on tracks like "tears in the club" and "darjeeling" which add a perfect boost of club energy which stops the record getting stale, blended with Twigs' vulnerable emotionally rich lyricism and ... read more
Strongest rapping from Drake since 2015/2016. But, a large portion of songs on "ICEMAN" find themselves ruined either by features (21 Savage and Future), lazy wordplay or beat switches. The intro track 'Make Them Cry' is a solid intro, serving as a self-reflection and from Track 1 through to Track 4 which fantastically interpolates Lykke Li, the record is promising. However, the run from Track 5-17 is filled with inconsistency and constant aforementioned beat switches which ... read more
A more cohesive and developed "Honestly, Nevermind", with refreshing features from Stunna Sandy, Sexyy Red, Teezo Touchdown and Iconic Savvy which add to the fun of Drake's second House project, this album contains lots of songs that I've continued to return to since release such as 'Road Trips', 'Cheetah Print' and 'Goose and The Juice', Drake's experimentation on Track 13 and 14 provide a new sound of Drake's that has previously gone ... read more
Alot to digest from Drake with "ICEMAN" "HABIBTI" and "MAID OF HONOUR" all dropping on the same night, however this record and "ICEMAN" suffer the same fate as weak individual projects with boring features (bar Qendresa) and a lack of replay value. There are some promising moments on "HABIBTI" such as 'WNBA' and 'Slap The City', however the terrible wordplay and lengthy runtimes makes this record one of my least favourite ... read more
One of if not my favourite Yung Lean albums, this was my first introduction into 'Cloud Rap' as a genre, the creative beats, Lean's slurred and emotionally rich vocals and the cadence of "Stranger" as a collective is solemn across tracks like 'Agony' and 'Hunting My Own Skin'. Looking back on "Stranger" years later and as a Yung Lean 'fan', this record feels like a bridge between his earlier work and his deeper, introspective work ... read more
Vince Staples seriously develops as an artist with his sound, lyrics, and direction on every album and it's so refreshing. From his 2024 work "Dark Times" which proves to be Vince's most reflective, conscious work, "Cry Baby" is a political critique on America with a real debut for his punk-rock sound which is incredible. Not a single moment on this record where the quality dipped with my favourite being track 3 - 'White Flag'
A solid addition to the 2024 "You Only Die 1nce", whilst I think it's one of his weaker albums, the deluxe adds some great tracks such as 'Torture' and 'Summertime Homicide'. yet also some very unnecessary interludes for a 'Deluxe'.
Amazing production from The Alchemist as per. Great rapping performance from Freddie, Larry and JID. Just an overall fun listen all the way through that doesn't ever feel 'draining' to sit through.
A step up from the original record but feels lazy with the inclusion of 'Back Home', 'Beautiful' and even the 'DYKILY (2017 Demo Version)' which are all totally unnecessary and added just for the sake of it. 'skin cells' and 'FTC' are beautiful tracks but the laziness of this deluxe is disappointing.
I had a lot of anticipation going into "GENESIS FM" as BNYX®'s debut LP, the feature list is strong with great verses from Yeat, Quavo, Kid Cudi and encapsulating vocals from the up-and-coming Clara La San. Lancey Foux's verse on 'squEEze !i' also provides a fresh sound of his for BNYX®'s wavy, futuristic production. Unfortunately, some of these tracks just do not stick, in particular, Big Sean's verse on 'I wanna know ;)' and Peso Pluma ... read more
Decent debut EP, nothing too much to add - great vocals and consistency but lacks rich replay value.
Starts off strong up until Track 9, then dips up and down in quality throughout the rest of the record.
