Somewhat confused by this. The trajectory Peggy has been on is genuinely pretty impressive. Each project better than the last, eacht project brining something unique to the table. Ironically, this new outing is his least cohert, interesting and experimental yet. Production is A+ as always, but the flows get tiresome after a certain point and the lyrics are Peggy at his cringiest yet.
The boys are back doing their thing, which is always a pleasure to hear. But the decision to make this a split with OOIOO is simply confusing to me. The album opens with OOIOO's two tracks, which take up roughly 20 minutes of the runtime. They were far from horrible, but I'm lying if I said they did anything for me. The band almost hit greatness here. Those first four tracks really showed that they've honed their skills to the fullest. 'Ecstacy' takes things in a different and somewhat interesting direction. That track works quite well, but the three that follow genuinely did nothing for me.
