Thanks to Death Grips releasing this album, after listening I immediately transformed into a runway model overtaking the likes of Kendall Jenner or Bella Hadid.
Jokes aside... phenomenal instrumental album from Death Grips. I wrote this album off as I'm usually not a fan of instrumental albums, but this is a surprising exception. Have Death Grips just turned me into an instrumental album lover?
This is not the greatest album in the Lil Yachty catalogue, but it's not a bad one. When this album dropped "One Night" was EVERYWHERE. Yachty's melodic and goofy attitude throughout the record just makes this a light and easy to listen to album.
What an amazing listening experience from Rocky. Him along with Clams Casino have mastered the cloud rap genre in such creative ways. This mixtape is perfect to listen to if you need a slow, moody rap experience.
While this album is not his best by any means, I doubt Thug had much creative control over this while being locked up. I don't hate this album, it feels like it could've been so much better than it is.
I don't know what Thug's career will be like after this album and if we'll ever get another album like JEFFERY or Barter 6. We can only hope.
This used to be my least liked Death Grips album. At the time it just sounded like a bunch of shit smooshed together and if I had done this review about a year ago I would've given it a solid 2/5 (maybe).
However, like most of Death Grips' discography, it grows on me. This is the epitome of that description. From most hated to one of my favorites.
