Many bands can create great melodies or sounds, but few can create soundscapes as powerful, cohesive, and distinctive as those of Radiohead. Listen to this record several times, the music will grow on you.
A bit uneven but still iconic, Echoes foreshadows DSOTM
FAV SONGS: Echoes, One of these Days
Standouts : the black Seminole, paint the sky, REACH THE SUNSHINE.
I love this record. A very successful attempt at Psychedelic/ prog Rock.
I feel the need to disagree with the comments saying this is boundary pushing. Tame impala, Michael Kiwanuka, and many others recreated the Floyd “feel” in recent years. But that doesn’t change how impressive it is that Yachty, of all people, made this album. Way to go lil boat 💯
Standout : Aton heart mother
Yes it’s very uneven, but still criminally underrated. As i’m writing this review this album has a critic score of 52. That’s bonkers! That’s like saying about half the albums out there sound better than this, and that’s some BS.
Standouts : Get Back, The Long and Winding Road, Let It Be
Let It Be Naked > Let It Be.
The songs sound better (especially Long and Winding road), the order is much more logical, and the very skippable songs "Dig it" and "maggie mae" have been removed and replaced by "Don't Let me Down".
For those reasons this "naked" version is a much more pleasant listen than the original record.
Amazing soul album.
What a voice. Hathaway’s version of “You’ve Got a Friend” takes Carole King’s song to new heights!
YES (pun intended).
“Close to the edge.” Holy shit! What a song! Certainly’s Yes’ best album. I also love the cover of ´America’ on the deluxe version.
