ive relistened to this album maybe thousands of times since i was a teenager. every single time i get a little more out of it than i did before. while i think its easy to write three cheers off as disposable emo pop punk, i would argue that its deceptively difficult to make catchy, memorable music, and that this is not as disposable as you want it to be on first listen.
the highlights for me include just how unique gerards voice is. they have without a doubt one of the most interesting vocals ... read more
i only ever get comments when i piss people off on here for some reason so im already kinda bracing myself because i actually kind of enjoyed maid of honor. i mean, its fucking late stage drake but this is the only thing i ever wanted from him. idk what to tell you, i like drake with the melodies! honestly i never want to hear drake rap ever again.
drake always frontloads his albums with the best material so you listen to the whole thing waiting for shit to get better, and while it never ... read more
on first listen i actually enjoyed a lot of iceman. i love how the songs flow into one another fairly effortlessly. the beat switches are fun too. the producers put their whole pussies into this. but ultimately, this is late stage drake. the boy cant help himself because despite all of the stuff that works on here, this is a drake project through and through.
iceman starts off strong with the opener, make them cry. it reminds me of if youre reading this its too late drake except, ... read more
i swear to god this had a must listen star and i dont get why it doesnt actually. anyway, its his best album and its not even a contest. benito locked the FUCK in to make this one. i admit i wasnt a huge fan before dtmf dropped because reggaeton is a genre i pop on for a workout or to shake my ass lol. dtmf is a layered, nuanced, and political experience, and i had to listen to it A LOT to really reflect on what makes this album work.
dtmf is one of those albums i think works best listening to ... read more
i usually associate indietronica with cold and sterility but vista pro mar is beautifully warm. silvas voice almost reminds me of the weeknds in a way. really pretty but some of the songs drag on a little too much and it was starting to put me to sleep towards the end.
incredibly underrated indie pop gem and im tired of pretending its not!! i like their self titled about as much as their follow up, ray guns are not just the future, although i think the back half is a little weaker. theres something so hypnotic about the singer and the lyrics and the glossy beats and the delicious headphone panning. its just a very satisfying record.
again and again, fucking boyfriend, im a broken heart, la la la, i hate camera
