when the instrumental is as barebones as this it puts a spotlight onto the vocals, and more importantly the songwriting underneath them. and all of a sudden the vocals do double the work and almost compensate for the lack of layering in the instrumentation.

i've been looking for an album like this for the LONGEST time. this is indie rock perfection. every single song has something different to introduce to the album and it's all so strange. none of this should work and i don't think a single word spoken was registered in my head. but who gives a shit when it sounds as good as this????
