black thought needs better producers because this album is just so disappointing. The middle of this album is unbelievably average considering how good bt does despite the mid production but the start and end are strong on this project nonetheless. Best songs: Good morning, steak um, fuel
78 minutes of my life im never getting back
blu outdoes himself time and time again on this album. Exile’s beat selection is perfect. This duo is one of the most underrated hip hop duos of all time. Below the heavens is relatable, thought provoking, and a rare anomaly in a rap world which constantly reminds us about being rich and famous. Blu makes this album for people to use it as an outlet, to help people remind themselves that some rappers are normal people too who have struggles and hardships that can’t be solved by ... read more
conception is one of the best songs in black thoughts entire catalogue; including his music as part of the roots. The production is angelic, and black thought just delivers bar after bar. Other than the final song though this album is nothing to write home about. It’s a good album but isnt as good as volume 1 unfortunately. Best songs: conception, get outlined, fentanyl
a classic Griselda album that has aged really well considering it turns 10 years old in November. Best songs: Rex Ryan, beloved, sky joint
refreshingly consistent and fails to disappoint. Every song is well-produced, and west and con hold their weight on every track. Best songs: fendi seats, richer porter, alligator straps
solid, thought provoking lyrics that perfectly fit the beats from 9th wonder.
ridiculously underrated, ridiculously good production and ridiculously good perfomances from Rome streetz that consistently show for the entire length. Best songs: Laps around the Sun, blood all over the money, 96 nauti windbreaker shit
I’d be surprised if this doesn’t end up as the best album from 2025. Such a refreshing listen; 0 misses and just an all round very enjoyable experience from start to finish. Best songs: Run Run Run pt II, Magic, Alive!, All the loved ones
a stroke of pure genius. One of the most subgenre defining records. Jazzmatazz volume 1 is exactly what is says on its cover. “An experimental fusion of hip-hop and jazz”. My sole critique is that at times I enjoy the production more than guru and I feel like sometimes the production is outshining him, but nonetheless this is a brilliant album. Best songs: Transit Ride, Loungin', Sights In The City
very surprised this isn’t a must hear, because it’s incredible, and sounds great for its time. Best songs: How can you mend a broken heart, let’s stay together, Judy
instant classic. infinite replay value. only 20 mins long. esdee is definitely my favourite in the ug scene rn. literally no skips. This being his first album is very impressive. Hopefully he can keep this up and maybe drop more consistently for the rest of 2025. Best songs: cali man, 4 raws, mist
if this album wasn’t so conceptually strong, it would easily be 15-20 ratings lower. At the crux of it, this is a very average album, but the concepts conveyed by The Roots within this album make it worth listening to. A very light listen; just 11 tracks running for just over half an hour, and then you shoot your cousin is certainly not their best, but is a fine addition to their catalogue nonetheless. Best Songs: Black Rock, Understand, The Dark
how a double LP this consistently great is fairly under the radar baffles me. Despite a 90 minute run time with 22 tracks, this project flies by when you’re listening. if not for the gat this would certainly be the best hip hop album that released in 2017. Best songs: The Light, Bury Me In Gold, Drinking Sessions
this doesn’t get the praise it deserves. A very solid record with some brilliant songs. Best songs: what we do, don’t cross the line, all my life
One of the greatest 3 albums runs in all of music. Best songs: Really Love, The Charade, Another Life
