I haven’t listened to the Strokes that much, only their first two albums, which were pretty good. This is a more pop/electronic oriented album than those early records but it is executed quite well. This feels like the Strokes are experimenting, which is exactly what they should be doing. While it’s my favorite; I wouldn’t call this an opus. Every album Rush made from ‘76 to ‘81 were all their best in their own right. However I feel that this one has everything I want from a Rush album, great solos, great riffs, great drums, great bass, and incredible songwriting, all the songs are great, and the first song picks up from their 4th best album and previous one, Xanadu. This album is really when Geddy Lee masters the synthesizer. However some songs on here are weaker than other songs, making for a somewhat inconsistent listening experience, but still good.
