Determined to continue on a disco bubble, Jessie Were created 'That! Feels Good! as a happier/energetic extension from her last work. Although, this feels like a step down from "Whats Your Pleasure?", perhaps because of the released mid pandemic causing immediate turmoil, the album its still pretty solid with "Pearls" and "Freak Me Now'', but does not have the same impact WYP had on all of us.
between tik tok virals and weak mainstream pop, doja cat is back. and she stil misses it.
it appears that olivia caught everyones attention when “driver’s license” came out, leading to the release of her debut, a long version of her lukewarm first single with indie pop/pop rock glimpses.

you may think this is not original, generic, weak forgettable, bad - and it is. god, imagine doing this on your third album… but, i have some appeal to it, and to her. the title track and “love me land” are among the good pop songs i've heard this year, yet there’s “wow” with the stupidest lamest chorus of the decade. pitifully, zara might be just that, a plastic singer with plastic songs, but make it glittier! at least this is better than that lady gaga ... read more
“sadder badder cooler” & “I’m coming” add some joy to the reissue
i get that katy was going for a grower/mature futuristic album, filled with political & self critique, empowerment and freedom, but the result its just not really good.
there are a couple of fun dancing tunes such as “roulette”, “swish swish”, a public declared shade against taylor swift, “pendulum” and “bon appetit”, featuring migos, a very homophobic group.

f- it. this is one of the most beautiful albuns ive ever had the pleasure to hear. marisa monte is such an amazing singer, her voice is so charming and captivating...almost hypnotic. this is timeless.
