When I first heard this I thought it was generic and repetitive sounds that got pretty redundant very quick. With more listens I've done a complete 180 and fallen in love with every song here, to the point where they all sound like ear candy and now I'm annoyed when they reach the end. Contextualizing the album by understanding its importance by pioneering dubstep and becoming in awe by how this album was made in just 2 weeks in 2007?? This and Kid A are the 2 best albums you can ... read more
In the context of Radiohead its "bad" but in reality its super inoffensive with some really solid alt rock songs. Just simply nothing special and sounds nothing like the rest of the band's work.
I don't know why if Danny wanted to mix hyperpop, breakcore, and drum and bass into his album he does so with the most uninteresting and repetitive versions of these sounds. Wasted opportunities with these features other than a few exceptions. I admire the massive sound shift but unfortunately could not see myself revisiting this.
This one is so underrated in his discography, some of the best songs hes made here.
Someone please help me understand this album because I don't get it and I want to. To me all the songs just blend together and have very background and forgettable production. The songs feel way too long and by the mid range I just feel uninterested. I think his vocals sounds fine but nothing about them to me sounds ground breaking or that interesting. Considering people say this is the best album this genre has to offer I just don't get it. Devil's Pie was the only song I ... read more
This is their best work by far. The beats on this thing are incredible. The vocal deliveries/song material is great. El-P and Mike have amazing chemistry with every feature. The closer ends this album absolutely beautifully, with the production adding spine chilling suspense throughout the whole thing especially with the chaotic jazz piece towards the end. Nothing more you could want from this duo, they gave 11 absolute bangers and so far a top 5 rap of album of the 2020s.
This album tries really hard to sound cinematic, epic, and big when its just not. These songs also sound like Disney songs or something you would hear in an animated movie.
Play this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GayoTKHKo2E with Truman Show in the background and tell me it doesn't feel like it fits perfectly.
Just overall to me sounds cliché and not replayable.
This guy is 35 making music like he is a highschooler in the 90s trying to win over his crush with his pop rock songs.
I genuinely don't get how people hate this album so much and think its has no good songs. For Logic's first time doing a complete genre shift, its pretty solid. The production and emotional conveyance is actually done very well on tracks like Bohemian Trapsody, Pretty Young Girl, Supermarket, and especially on I Love You Forever. This is one of my favorite Logic songs ever and has a truly heartfelt emotinal delivery with a great buildup that I don't get how people can write off ... read more
This is an Imagine Dragons fan's favorite rapper.
Thift Shop is banger, everything else is complete garbage.
Not going to even bother giving this one multiple listens. Its just a copy and paste of the last album. Picks literally the most boring beats possible, and give the least enthusiastic deliveries possible. Not one catchy chorus on this whole thing. The best album to play to help your newborn baby fall asleep and stop crying.
This album is so beautiful and addiciting, its impossible not to love it. Top tier blind man.
Ground breaking production on this album, some of the best electronic songs of all time on here.
I'm sorry but with Isaac not being the vocalist anymore it just doesn't feel the same.
Most of the album is super dull and forgettable. JETLGGD and DANGEROUS are genuinely bangers though. They simply don't feel like they belong on this album. The guitar riffs on DANGEROUS are absolutely addicitng and it has some really catchy lines.
It's wild to me how nearly every single one of these new artists who try to leech off the Carti/Opium sound do absolutely nothing unique or transformative, and yet, there are still drones who listen to it. Every beat is a copy and paste from the last. No catchy lyrics on this thing. Not even any good deliveries, literally all of these guys sound the same. It's wild. This is just the epitome of laziness, and these artists know that no matter what they make, it doesn’t matter ... read more
This thing will pull you from absolutely beautiful piano pieces immediately into some of the most chaotic and schzophrenic IDM you will ever hear. Some people might call it disjointed and all over the place because of that, but for me I love it. This is Richard's magnum opus.
