Urgent, visceral, arresting, and vivid, the newest album (after so long) by Caspar Brötzmann Massaker does anything but disappoint, bringing in harsh, hypnotic, industrial tones.
I hate to be a contrarian but this isn't exactly a freeing gesture from the post-rock/jazz-fusion format. Riffs, crescendos, record scratches, and reverbs, repeating tired cliches used by post-metal bands hundreds of times over.

To everyone saying these songs are "Disturbing, bleak, and bizzare," (albeit that last part might be correct), Joy Shapes is Charalambides' attempt at hopefully radiant music, and an absolutely beautiful attempt at that.
