This is my favourite MJ album and i don't care. HE BIG MAD and its completely understandable. what a great shame that dusty old bag tom sneddon outlived mike.
Janet was confronting racism, poverty and systemic injustice with surgical precision, abrasive industrial and even metal sounds, and total cohesion years before the wider pop industry had the courage or clarity to do so. Devastatingly relevant then, and unfortunately still devastatingly relevant today. UNDOUBTEDLY one of the best albums of the 80s
its not as bad as people are saying, but its definitely not a great album. it has its moments, but the concept overall is handled pretty shoddily. the definition of mid.
im admittedly a very big fan of eminem, but even back when this shit came out and i was knee deep in my eminem fandom i knew this shit was ASS. literally only has 2 ok songs on it in walk on water and castle, and those songs would be mid on any other eminem album. he really just forgot what music was supposed to be all together on this shit didnt he?
yeah i don't see the hate. i really enjoyed how crazy this album was and i love to see a7x experimenting as much as they are here.
ngl until i heard addison on the von dutch remix i was definitely under the impression that addison was gonna be yet another content creator who feels obligated to try to do music just because they can, but this album thankfully proved me completely wrong. this album is so much fun, it makes me feel like im walking through one of those frutiger aero pictures with the bluest sky ever and the greenest hills ever. best pop release of 2025 thus far. love love love.
I've heard a lot about Sleep Token, but I never actually listened to them at all before this album. I was expecting some basic metalcore stuff with maybe some art pop aspects, and for the most part thats what i got, but in the most strange way. Most of the tracks felt like they had the same formula: a slow dramatic buildup with those weird ass vocals, then a trap beat for some reason, then a metal breakdown to remind you that sleep token is, in fact, a metal band. The issue is that the ... read more
classic deathcore album
I used to listen to this album all the time when I was like 12 and didn't really expect to still enjoy it, but there's some damn good deathcore on this thing. definitely the bands best work. some tracks are more interesting and memorable than others, but overall everything kept me interested for the whole runtime.
fav tracks: unanswered, hands of a killer, no pity for a coward, destruction of a statue.
idk why i didnt listen to this when it had come out because this is SO SO good. the mix of industrial electronic beats and neoclassical instrumentation creates an atmosphere that really matches with the beautiful album art.
this is the sort of album where as soon as i click play i NEED listen from front to back with no skips. each of the songs are very good in isolation but in the context of full listen its so much better. it feels like you're being dragged into some strange underworld ... read more
instant classic. it has low points, but even those would be high points in a lot of other artists careers. reincarnated is incredible, like a classic 2pac song in 2024. his best since gkmc.
This was 14 year old me's favourite album ever, and to be honest I didn't expect to still love it going back to it as my music taste has expanded greatly since then, but oh my god this is such a treat to return to. Avenged Sevenfolds best album for sure. The Rev's drumming is fantastic as usual, M Shadows vocals have greatly improved from the bands lackluster debut release "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" and Synyster Gates joins the band and produces some of their best ... read more
Goddamn ACKNOWLEDGE ME is one of my favourite tracks this year. WAAAAY better than the first.
I need this song injected into my veins. This song makes me feel like girlypop incarnate. give us the remix album charli ilysm
Charmless, terribly produced, and completely boring. This is arguably Kanye's worst album in his entire discography. The best parts of the album are the moments where Kanye isn't talking, because at least most of the features still have a little creativity. At least "Vultures 1" had SOME sort of redeeming tracks, like "BACK TO ME," "DO IT," or "BURN."
This album has one or two half-decent tracks with "SLIDE" and "FIELD ... read more
FIRST LISTEN REVIEW: Its taken me a while to finally listen to this record and I'm kind sad now that I didn't hear it sooner. This album feels like what a "break up" album should always set out to do, which is put the artists emotions on a plate, no matter what the musical outcome is.
The opening track perfectly portrays how it feels to constantly compare yourself to other people and see yourself as not enough while having that teen angst there too, and the song "jealousy, ... read more
I wish I could hear this album for the first time all over again. Feels like it could've released yesterday and sounded just as fresh and new as the day it released.
Its a solid MJ album, only a few 'skips' and even then I still enjoy the majority of those to a point. My main issues with this album are that it definitely drags on for too long, a good few of these tracks could easily be cut out for the sake of time ("2000 Watts", "You Are My Life", "The Lost Children", "Don't Walk Away"). I feel that the album definitely gets a little too mushy at times, especially during the second half which makes the long runtime ... read more
