what can i say i am a sucker for ethereal music. 90210 is one of the best 25 songs ever made btw.
i have some minor gripes with mixing here and there, and its not the most cohesive at times, but ultimately his unique blend of styles wins me over. the infectious edm and hyperpop blends with subtle elements of cloud and trap in an interesting way, and i like how the rawness conveys itself with the theme of the album- a young person that struggles handling the pressure of fame and expectations. shoutout 2hollis

genuinely a pretty faithful rendition of that classic big band nuclear family ass christmas sound. the backing vocals get pretty rough, especially on baby, its cold outside. other than that, schlatt’s voice just works with this sound and its a fun novelty!
i mean it has its moments. this song loses 10 points because in the back half em says some vaguely insensitive shit and is like “yeahhhh i bet you’re offended.” for an eminem chorus it could be worse, and he actually finds a pretty enjoyable pocket on the verses. the flip on without me kind of grew on me and i thought the instrumental was effective in being 2000’s eminem reminiscent without sounding super outdated.

what if dev and quad couldn’t hear what they were doing when they made this? what if that?
idk why we gotta expect a drake diss to be the story of adidon. that’s not only by far the best drake diss, but maybe the hardest hitting diss track of all time, we gotta lower our expectations. with that being said, this had so many quotables, insane delivery, and it reads like a warning track more than a diss. i want drake to respond JUST to hear what else kendrick has, because this was nuts
i expect this album to grow on me as i get more acclimated with this sound, but as of now the mix is just a bit too muddy for me to be in love with this. i feel like the album peaks with when you sleep, and fizzles out a tiny bit. with all that being said, it’s a really good project, and when it hits the mark, it hits it really hard.
