Fucking insane the best band to emerge from the past few years, absolutely love these guys
Biggest dissapointment of the year wow. I didn't mind the dreamier/popier direction of Glow On, in fact that's downplaying it a little I loved that album. Incredibly catchy without a sacrifice for creative instrumentals, but 'Never Enough'? Only an ounce of the previous punchiness remains, it's clear they're still doing their thing but it sounds incredibly bland, interesting guitarwork... where?
Endless nostalgia of my mom playing this in the car is enough for me to give it a decent score
Consistently entertaining and these guys have a great sense of humor.Even though I wasnt sure there were any real highlights on a first listen, multiple tracks have stayed in my head for days to come
1991 was a pivotal year in the music industry. As glam metal and hard rock’s prime years came to a close there was a brand new Grunge movement on the rise and more underground we saw the release of several groundbreaking albums including My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless and Slint’s Spiderland. Looking at the roster I’d no doubt about it and call it one of the best years in music, ever. Including in that list we can find Massive Attack’s debut album, Blue Lines, often ... read more
I had a bad impression going in as I find "My Thought Go" one of the most annoying singles of the year with its cheap and uninspired chorus repeating into oblivion. Luckily, as a project, STONE sometimes manages to write more interesting songs, but even those get held back by its repetitive nature. In a way they take an approach to music similar to the likes of Lenny Kravitz, you find a riff and chorus that works and repeat it throughout the song changing essentially nothing ... read more
If I had to pick one ambient album that is considered my favorite of all time, it would be this one. The Dead Texan is one of many side projects from the master of ambiance, Adam Wiltzie, better known as a member of Stars Of The Lid and A Winged Victory For The Sullen. Together with Christina Vantzhou, they create an atmosphere that in my opinion rises above any of their other albums.
Describing this record is a difficult task, there’s a certain desolate quality to it. Comparable to how ... read more
I don't want to sound like a stereotypical boomer but the pop music scene is in absolute shambles if this is one of the biggest releases of the year. Every song blends into another and not a hint of creative songwriting, just straight-up boring really... nextttt.
Every song feels very smooth and Sinatra as we all know has an amazing voice but I can't help but feel it getting a bit samey near the end.
Man, I really wished I liked this because they're gonna be at Werchter next summer but I genuinely don't see the hype behind these overly clean-produced metal records which are booming at the moment. I think Bring Me The Horizon makes it sound pretty decent sometimes but in this case it just feels so bland.
Overall an enjoyable listening experience but most of these songs fail to stand outside the shadow of the masterpiece that is 'Edge Of Seventeen'
Very passable 70s soft rock but besides the main hit 'Listen to the music' which I really like, nothing stands out that much.
Creates a lush ambient atmosphere with its unique jazz instrumentals although I do feel some songs definitely hold more weight than others.
I genuinely don't understand people on this website. They go into this record knowing they're gonna hate it, which is to be expected when you're not used to noise/harsh noise albums. But what's the point? You already knew what to expect when going into this so why even listen to it? If you actually want to take on a harsh noise record with an open mind and you still don't like it, that's completely fine but even if you do I don't understand why THIS is used as someone's first experience with ... read more
I honestly don't mind telling myself that this is one of my favorite albums of all time now. The ideas and atmosphere are executed flawlessly and with every relisten, I adore every song even more. The record starts with a 2-minute noise section on We Invent You, I mostly just skip this section as... it's just noise but after that, the good stuff starts with a track that introduces you to the unique atmosphere that the record is going for.
It's also interesting to mention how the first few ... read more
