Their pop album, all the songs are melodic and when listened to in the album sequence each track has it's moments. The only failing is apart from 'and she was' and 'road to nowhere' (which should have been 30 seconds shorter-two chord sequences have get repetitive quickly) none of the other songs are single worthy-'stay up late' is the closest but doesn't quite get there

A really funky album, the first half of the record is dense particularly 'the great curve' but it also has enough melodies and hooks to keep you interested with a big pop single thrown in-'once in a Lifetime' for good measure. The second half of the record releases a little of that drive with 'the overload' being a particularly heavy and dirgey track but a fine album nonetheless
Each track on here has something but all are too long and most vamp on two chords which means the tunes can become quite tedious but 'burning down the house','girlfriend is better'and 'this must be the place...'-with it's light as air, summer in NYC vibe-are good songs
