Very lovely album. Very dreamy, very atmospheric, very pretty, makes my kiddy brain all happy and shit. Kind of loses momentum near the end though.
THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT
THAT’S WHY HE’S THE MVP
THAT’S WHY HE’S THE GOAT
THE GOAT
Undun has got to be the most complex, immersive, and surreal hip hop album I have ever listened to. It is a true “rap opera”, a dramatic story about a man’s suicide and the decisions that led him to said suicide. Said story is then told over some of the most beautiful production known to man and through the incredible bars and flows of Black Thought. Which reminds me, Undun finally made me get the hype around this man. Black Thought is a legend, his bars, his flows, the way he ... read more
This album reminds me of a lot of my friends in both good and bad ways. Mostly bad
Twin Fantasy is what happens when the sad, melodramatic, queer teenager who smokes pot grows up. Will Toledo looks back on a toxic relationship, where he was before and during that relationship, and the lessons that period in his life taught him. The album is full of teenage angst but also examines said teenage angst. It tries to provide context and clarity for feelings that weren’t fully understood. ... read more

Normally an artist this early into their career, even if they make something great, they will still often release something that they probably could have done more with. This is not the case with Imperial. Any time a song from this album comes on my playlist, I start jamming the fuck out. The production is incredible, Zel's rapping is peak as always, everything is nothing but good music. Zel already feels like a fully fledged artist despite only being on his second album, and that is one ... read more
This song feels like a treasured memory. Like looking at an old photo of your high school friend group. None of you talk anymore, but you still remember everything you did with all of them. All of the memories come flooding back all at once, and at the end, you're left a sobbing mess.
feels like something i'd listen to off of an album i'd find while scrolling through my aoty recommendations at 3 AM
I liked quite a few of the ideas on here, but I feel like this could've had a little more time in the oven. A couple of the songs here are a little too conventional. Trout is at their best when they are at their noisiest.

Songs of Love and Hate is an album that does a whole lot by only doing very little. The production is minimalistic, mostly focusing on Cohen and his guitar, with occasional accompaniment from other instruments and background vocals. While normally, I wouldn’t be engaged by this kind of music, Cohen’s lyrics and the atmosphere of the album do more than enough to keep me invested. My point is, this album has such an overwhelming sense of atmosphere despite being relatively minimalist, ... read more
So I saw this album and I saw a bunch of people give it 100s and rave about how good it was, so I decided to check it out. Long story short, all of them were right. i saw an angel in the mirror is the best shoegaze album I have ever listened to (besides deathconsciousness but that’s only kinda shoegaze). It is dominated by killer rhythms, killer vocals, and even more killer production. The sequencing is also a highlight, it kind of has a “one long song” feel to it with the ... read more
