Some mid songs, but a bunch of really quality songs here.

BUSY (90)
-I love how smooth the beat is, yet how rough the drums are, it’s so nice. This song is so catchy, rapping is great and I love it. Only slight problem with it is the singing on the hook, but it’s not that bad, just a little messy.
SIRENS (100)
-Masterpeice. The weird inflection mixed with that incredible hook, great lyricism and wavy beat make such perfect song.

Intro (88)
-I love how simply the concept gets introduced, and how after this song you can tell when it’s Boat or Yachty. Beats are both great, so simple yet so good, and the flows are fire. Even though the “diamonds so cold you might need a fan” line is technically wrong, it’s still delivered so well. Both halves are great, but I like Boat’s part more.
Wanna Be Us (77)
-I could see someone hating this song, but this song is so bubbly and ... read more
At first listen on maybe one video, this song isnt bad. When I really hear the whole song and get absolutely swamped with this song every day on my feed, this song really is unredeemable and SO corny. The unhappy lyric and the Marco Polo thing is actually painful. No hate to doechii, just this is nowehere near here best work, AT ALL.
“I threw this little mixtape together because I love y’all.”
Suits this tape pretty well tbh. Some really solid beats, standard rapping with a few okay tracks. The best songs on this album are really great, and are super underrated in Mac’s catalog. The title track has a wonderful beat, The Come Up on BBR did really great and I love how jazzy People Under The Stairs is.

Solid beats, solid rapping and singing, and solid, introspective lyrics. I loved the theme on Excelsior about how some kids are growing up too fast, and don’t have a real childhood. Besides that, I really enjoyed this project, especially songs like Rick’s Piano, 5 dollar Pony Rides, Excelsior, Stoned and even Transformations. No skips here, minus the intro and outro, but that’s a given. I love how this album combined most of the elements of Swimming in Circles, but is unique ... read more
To start, Mac Demarco’s voice is so ethereal. His voice is so calming on this record, and since the vocals are much better mixed on this project than Salad Days, it really highlights how subtle, smooth, calming and beautiful his singing voice is.
Next, these instrumentals are the definition of warm and comforting. The simple drums, the wonderful guitar strings, the nice synths and atmospheric shakers on every single song mesh incredibly, and put me in such a calm trance every time I ... read more
Might it be unfinished? A bit, yeah, but I still enjoy this project as a devoted Christian myself.
Favourite Songs: Follow God, Closed on Sunday
Not bad, but not great either. Some good and decent tracks like Deep Pockets and Demons but nothing too noteworthy after that. Listened to this in the line for Continental Buffet in Quebec and the food was much better than the album.
Such a nice and breezy listen with some great, simple, very garage-esque instrumentals and amazing hooks. Goodbye Weekend is an all time classic Mac song that needs more attention.

Over My Dead Body (96)
-Love the sample for the hook, and the simple yet effective beat really rocks.
Shot For Me (62)
-Okay song, but the “ahahahah” during the hook really drags it down. Also Drake’s singing here is reminding me of Honestly, Nevermind and that’s not a good thing.
Headlines (100)
-Nothing short of a mega banger. Love the bouncing synths and Drake’s hook here really is a good earworm. Nothing short of a pop-rap ... read more

Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough (100)
-Amazing vocals over a super groovy beat, and a super catchy hook, repetitive it is and annoying it isn’t. Honestly didn’t even know this was MJ until recently tbh.
Rock With You (100)
-Stunning MJ performance. The hook is so legendary and timeless, mixed with that just dreamy beat.
Workin Day And Night (98)

Not a stretch to call this both the best posse cut in all of rap (though Piñata is close) , but also one of the greatest rap songs ever. Every verse is super memorable, beat is right up my alley for a beat I would consider perfect and the bars are on point.
“Flowing like my pad is the maxiest” is such a great bar and Tyler’s whole verses are both incredible. My favourite is either Earl’s, Tyler’s second verse, Frank or Jaspers, but every verse was peak.
The very first rap album I every completed, and is super nostalgic for me, especially DKMV and SAMIDOT.

Friday Night Lights (NR)
Too Deep For The Intro (100)
-What an amazing beat, with just as tapped in and smooth beat. How much better could you start an album with?
Before I’m Gone (96)
-Great beat, and love the rapping. Hook is incredibly catchy and the violin and choir in the back make this a great hype track.

-Finding out that this was a freestyle bumped my score up even higher. Crazy beat that reminds me of Halftime by Nas over ... read more
Basically just a early version of Apricot Princess. And wow, is that early version great. My only problem with this album is that having 3 interludes in a row is a little unnecessary, but the core songs on this album like Rex, ASABS, and ESPECIALLY Corduoy Dreams are especially amazing.
Best Song: Corduoy Dreams
Worst Song: Curfew
Who would’ve thought a Youtube Shorts edit would’ve brought me to such an incredible album. From start to finish, this album has incredible riffs, incredible hooks and Chris Cornell’s stunning vocals. Chris Cornell as a vocalist was so talented, and he had so much energy and talent here. Not a single bad or just decent song, every song slaps hard, with Black Hole Sun being an undeniable classic. Despite the length of each song, this album goes by so fast, despite nearly every ... read more
Madvillainy is one of the most loved albums of all time, considered a classic by everyone, and for very good reason. I won’t lie, I used to not like Madvilliany on my very first listen. The production wasn’t clicking with me and I somehow thought the album was “too disorganized”. Boy, did this relisten change that.
Getting straight into it, Madvillainy from start to finish sticks to a tight, cohesive and nearly timeless theme. From the thematic intro, The Illest ... read more

Slick Talk (90)
-Starts off with a just okay beat that quickly and luckily transitions in to one of the best beats here. Rapping is incredible, sounds so effortlessly tryhard, I love it.
Westbrook (80)
-Fire hook from Ferg, great beat and JID’s rapping is also amazing, but the song sadly takes a hit from how bad the mixing is on the third verse. Sad that the best verse had that happen to it. 😔
