Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison

"But I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die".

*Massive applause*

The man in black, Johnny Cash. There's a reason even Country haters name this man as an exception, he's that good. And here At Folsom Prison it's displayed what exactly makes him good.

Humor is matched with tragedy, with a hint of spirituality. It's all so real, that's the charm of Johnny. Some of his darkest tunes are present here - he introduces topics like suicide, execution, seprate ... read more

On paper, I should love this. The gloomy gothic sound fits that dark fantasy aesthetics very well. This should've been great, but it just doesn't do it for me.

The whole time I was left frustrated, felt like every moment was just a few seconds behind that perfect sound which never appears. The songwriting is lackluster, and repetative - could've easily cut a sizable chunk from every track. A disappointing and frustrating experience overall as it had everything I liked - that ... read more

Lex Walton - I WANT YOU TO KILL ME

This album is deeply confrontational, Alex really went all out and put their life into this, literally. Everything is very personal, they really didn't hold back. It's like an autobiography - a very amateurish, raw one at that. Like it's written by a death row prisoner the night before their execution. Not afraid to make people uncomfortable by just how deeply personal they could go, and deeply personal they go. The song writing is brilliant. It's dark, but they keep ... read more

Is this some inside joke I'm unaware of?

I fucking love Syd Barrett. At first it looks like a bunch of pretentious young adults messing arround but... no there's no but that's all there is to it. That's what makes it all the more human. It's so innocent, real, unlike the impossibly perfect albums that'd come out later (love them too no hate). And yeah, they took too many drugs on this one. Classic Floyd.

It makes me happy listening to this. Like take the last track "bike" for example, it's so ... read more

Talking Heads - Remain in Light

A very well produced, fun, groovy and danceable album, with meaningful, thought invoking lyrics and themes to back it all up. From the start you can hear that intense anxiety and confusing - about the government, the American dream. Confusion about existence itself, and despite all those themes it remains a fun, quirky album.

Fun. Groovy, up-beat, bittersweet, some punk elements here and there but decent atmost. Nothing that stands out. Has nothing going for it. It sounds like what you'd imagine indie rock to sound like, lyrics are sub-par, not bad but they're just... there. Vocals are good enough. Just a decent enough album to vibe along with.

Television - Marquee Moon

Some of the best guitar work right here. 10 minute guitar solo in a punk album baby!

The atmosphere it creates is something else. Adding on that are the amazing vocals, they're so... pleasant to hear. Not to mention the lyrics which goes perfectly well along with it, like - "I spoke to a man down at the tracks / And I ask him how he don't go mad / He said, "Look here, junior, don't you be so happy / And for Heaven's sake, don't you be so sad". Glow Pt. 2 completely overshadows this, and for good reasons. Everything done in this album, actually, everything Phill has done in his career was perfected and put into Glow Pt. 2. This is still a solid piece of music. Just less cohesive and loosely connected than what followed after.

The details are there, and they are well much appreciated. Like in some tracks, the noise would dampen - symbolising us moving deeper underwater. Album starts off with two acoustic, alternating panning forth ... read more

Elf Power - A Dream in Sound

Not treading any new grounds, but this is a well made and solid album. Very happy and very fun. Somewhat forgettable, still a tight and solid piece of music all in all.

Like children's music for adults - lost adults. A cute little bright and shiny twee-ness with some (semi)psychedelic bizarreness. Though it's at times just another white guy indie rock record, but there are moments of excellence - Jane is a beautiful song.

Space Cadets - Sounds from Outer Space

Can call it guilty pleasure if you will, but loved this one.

Deep into the sci-fi theme. The vocals are amazing, with strong songwriting backing them up. Only gripe I have with this album are the instruments, and the general production. They're pretty weak on this one, which is understandable since the band ain't making anything professionally.

Oh right, another thing. Everything sounds the same. This ain't all that bad since that sound is amazing - not every band has to keep ... read more

Good motivating, upbeat Christian music, perfect for all occasions. I blast this off outside of my local church everyday. Don't mind the negetive reviews, people nowadays have abandoned our lord and savior Jesus Christ. How can anyone be critical of this holy grail of a record? Even musically, the riffs, although out of tune, are amazing and thought invoking. Which goes perfectly well with the holy words spoken. 🙇🙇🙇

"So at the end of the day you're just review bombing, not even having heard the album. Jeez, if you're so repulsed by their ideology then don't talk about them or give them a 0 just cause you hate them (i hate their ideology too ofc, but that's a different thing, we're rating music here not morality)."
