some people might tell you that this track is annoying. some people might tell you that the guitar solo is boring. some people are wrong.
let's start with the elephant in the room: the audio quality is, fuzzy, to say the least. i know that every review says how shitty the recording is on this thing, and yeah, i agree. however, i quite like it. while face to face may have the crystal clear audio and the perfect harmonies and tones; mirror to mirror definitely feels much more emotional than face to face.
i think the best way to explain it is as such: face to face is an album by car seat headrest. mirror to mirror is an album by ... read more
before we start, let's get this out the way. yes, i know this is the same rating as fantano. no, i don't watch him frequently. my opinion is in no way related to his. got it? good.
honestly, mbdtf starts off on the right foot. dark fantasy is an amazing intro that does a good job at introducing the album. gorgeous is pretty good; power is... well, power; and all of the lights is a pretty nice track. monster used to be one i'm not too fond on, but now i like it quite a bit. nicki undoubtably ... read more
this album is decent, but christ, some of them are old? that one track is worth half the album and it's hardly ever talked about. might be my favourite from pre-ambient eno.
the title track is such a good ambient piece, once of eno's best. but in my opinion, the B-side really drags it down from a 9 to a 7. though, that's not to say they're BAD, i'd just have preferred them on a different album.
put this on in the background so i could have something nice while i do homework. ended up not doing homework and just crying for a while instead.
oh lord, this album is getting so much praise after will of the people. i don't really mind that, though. it's a great album.
i've had this one on CD for a while but i never listened to it, for some reason. well, what with all the talk of muse, i gave it a go. it was quite good. plug in baby is my favourite because, i mean, of course it is.
though, i don't see how people compare this to radiohead? sure, there's SOME inspirations, but i don't see how they sound similiar. i've listened to ... read more
you know what? i'm tired of all these calming ambient albums with sweet synth pads. up yours, eno. on your bike, aphex. i don't have mental breakdowns in G minor. well, i'm in luck. the boys have an album for me.
confield is a cold, miserable album for cold, miserable nerds like me. it's brutally confusing, insanely dark, and it's fucking brilliant. listening to tracks like bine at night, with all the sounds around you, truly does show how good the boys are.
sure, tri rep and lp5 are amazing ... read more
as i write this, the time is currently 20:52 - BST, that is. my room is dark, and my music player has my apollo CD in. this is the first time i've fully listened to this album since i first heard it. the very first time i heard it, i started crying. it is the only album to date that has broke me on the first listen.
i couldn't tell you the best track on the album. maybe deep blue day? maybe always returning? i love the echo-y guitar work on those tracks, and really that's what i remember this ... read more
i feel bad for this album. it's a good harsh noise album, but seeing as it's the most popular merzbow album, people flock to it to give it a 0/10. as with most harsh noise, it's got some good grooves if you want to hear them.
venerology is better though, and that is a fact.
to pimp a butterfly - finally got around to listening to this one. it's been on my watchlist for a while, but i always put kendrick off for no apparent reason. shame, really, because i could've really done with this as i was getting into hip hop.
the jazz inspired instrumentals really give a funky background that could turn making excel spreadsheets into the best shit ever. not to mention kendrick is on his a-game throughout the whole album, along with all the features that show up. kendrick's ... read more
