I feel like this is The Weeknd's most introspective and story centered project, and it excels greatly because of that. The only glaring issue is the small pocket of tracks on this project that run a little stale, and even then the individual tracks are all good. Unfortunately this being his last album, The Weeknd could have also just delivered his best work to date. The Mike Dean production over his incredible vocals and fascinating lyrics make for an amazing and complete experience.
This was my first Denzel Curry album and my introduction to his style. And it does not at all disappoint. Denzel's lyricism on every track is well thought out and incredible, especially when paired with the extremely unique and stylized production and flows. From start to finish this complete and polished project is truly something impressive and only gets better with every listen. 9/10
What an incredible album. Smino did not disappoint with this first listen, and I haven't been able to stop listening since that moment. This album best shows the special sonic talents that Smino has across many diverse tracks, each one different from the last.
