Though Death has released multiple top tier albums, The Sound Of Perseverance is, without question, Death's finest hour in my opinion. Psychopath’s Making The Transition is an uncommon, hidden gem of progressive death-thrash with avant-garde leanings appearing as the story unfolds. Voivod’s The Outer Limits landed in 1993, after metal had evolved and further shifted away from its 1980's roots. Instead of holding on to the aggression of the past, Voivod continued moving forward their progressive side, mixing hard rock, sci-fi weirdness, and a little bit of groove.
