I've struggled with listening to music the past couple of weeks. But this has been on repeat constantly.
i wasn't even meant to listen to it so soon, it was way down in my queue. But I saw this sample breakdown video of Don't cry, like holy that's incredible. Then I learnt about the story of the creation of this album. And I just had to listen to it.
Wow this did not disappoint. I love sampling in hiphop, especially if vocals are mixed into the beat. And this album does that and a lot more. ... read more
This is not really my sound, so normally I find it quite tough to get through these types of albums. But this one seems to be an exception, the writing is amazing.
I felt myself really getting sucked into the content of the songs. Especially the ones with social commentary. Her voice combined with the lyrics really carry a lot of presence. major example being Behind the wall, which is completely a cappella. Which might be my favourite song on here.
The love songs don't really do it to me. ... read more

The life of pablo, my favourite mixed bag.
This album is incredible. From the wild production, amazing sample chops, fantastic features and Kanye completely unfiltered on the lyrics. But the latter is also the downfall of quite a few songs. The infamous bleached asshole lines on father stretch my hands. The go-pro lines on highlights. And whatever the fuck freestyle 4 is.
"Name one genius that ain't crazy" sums up the album very well. This has some of my ... read more
It feels like I should like this more than I do..
I love the production, right up my ally vibe wise. The choruses are super catchy. But in the end I feel like the choruses take up too much of the songs. Denzel writes some amazing verses, so I'd rather have an extra verse, or the song cut short than have the chorus repeated at the end.
My first time listening to James Blake's own music. And this is not what I expected. It's very diverse, with lots of different sounding and topical songs.
It's consistently good, with big hammer as a lowlight. plus He's been wonderful as my favourite. That song reminds me a lot of the experimental music I like. It's unpredictable and has a lot of direction changes. The sample usage is really cool with the counting and the gospel sample is so wild. With nice bass hits throughout the track and ... read more
Wow this has aged incredibly poorly. Sonically and the inclusion of Christ Brown.
The dubstep is horrible, Eminem's feature was terrible, Chris brown was also here... Hearing him and Rihanna on the same song just feels wrong now.
But besides, Rihanna's performances are great. Diamond and Stay are both amazing. Each super nostalgic, catchy and powerful. I also really enjoyed the Future inclusion. Usually I'm really not a fan of the echo-y vocal effects, like what's used in the background of ... read more
Every verse, every beat, everything about this is incredible. Some of the most memorable songs ever created are on here. The only shame is the recording quality, maybe in another timeline were the floods didn't happen this would've been different. But who knows. It doesn't bother me enough to take away from how amazing this album is.
This album feels like an hour long barrage of intensity by some evil force. Occasionally broken up by angelic moments trying to break through the constant intensity. It's almost like a never ending fight between the good and evil. This album genuinely tired me out. I had to take a break from everything to recover from this album, when I was done listening.
When I first listened to this I have it a 4.5/10. I called it too intense and just generally too much. And my opinion hasn't changed about ... read more
This feels like being on the run from somebody and fighting anyone you come across. Except nobody is actually coming after you.
Banger after banger, top tier performances across genres and worthy features. You Sad feels too poppy for me, not really my thing. But love everything else.
There are actually some moments on here I enjoy, but a lot gets ruined by NF trying to be over the top spiritual miracle. Flexing all his flows when the song really doesn't ask for it. Also, DRIFTING gets completely ruined by that movie trailer type beat at the end. STORY might be the most impressive track on here, but enjoyability wise it just doesn't hit. Found it to be the most rough listen on the album.
It's NF you get what you ask for. And his style is just not my thing, everything feels ... read more
The main issue I have with this over her previous two projects is the production. It isn't as tight and well done as those. It feels unfinished and rough on some tracks.
The hihat in the beat of broken doesn't sound good to my ears at all. Also don't like how overblown and jarring the choir sample on sideways sounds. Its loud and sounds out of place.
Complaints out of the way. Simz's lyricism is till top notch. Some of the best tracks she's made are on this project. Heart on fire might just ... read more
Yeah... it's not great.
Besides the complains I have everywhere of the vocals being pretty bad. The lyrics are trying to be as agreeable as possible. Everything is just generic, but not well executed. But I want to single out the tracks Everest and Until I End Up Dead.
The feature on Everest is actually fun, the music was pretty bad, but it being fun made up for it. Some of the lines actually made my laugh out loud. And that's as much as I could ask for. "Fuck the opps, like it's enemies ... read more
This feels like a drugged out experience on the brink of implosion. Seeing the exit, but not being able to get to it.
This is one of the most boring and unlikeable listens I have ever had to an album. Every song sounds super similar. Knee Socks sounds like the guitar in Gorgeous by Kanye West.
But my main issue with this are the lyrics. This man is so down bad, it's so unlikeable. I straight up turned off the final track after the first line: "I want to be your vacuum cleaner". I'm asexual and aromantic, so already I can't relate to any of it. But when it's written in such a cringe and unflattering ... read more
It took some time for the finals tracks to grow on me. But I think this is peggy's best work. It sounds like he's free and doing whatever he wants to. And it make for an incredibly fun listening experience.
I don't speak Spanish, so I had to do it with the Translations. And what I shame that I don't speak. The more intimate songs would've hit so much harder.
Overall, first time listening to something like this. And Im happy I checked it out. Saoko, hentai and g3 n15 are my favourites. Production on saoko is insane, that beat is fantastic. I love the lyrics on the other ones, paired with her singing. I enjoyed the slower songs were Rosalia was able to show her vocals and intimate lyrics the most.
Besides having heard him on Outkast projects, the run the jewels feature on cheat codes and the line on Hood Politics I know nothing about Killer Mike.
My main takeaways are that he sounds confident and is not afraid to speak his mind. And I love that, but I do think that can backfire. Like on Talk'n that shit. The woke lines sound really conflicting to many other themes on the album. And that strange homophobic bar is really out of line. It's 2023, are we still not past this?
CeeLo Green's ... read more

Melt Session #1 is the best track.
My opinion hasn't changed all that much since I first heard it. But some of the tracks near the end grew on me. Like The smell of death, sanjuro and zatoichi. Troubles is now my least favourite, t-pain's feature doesn't do it for me. And I'm not a fan of the beat. Didn't love it in the first place, while others have grown, my opinion on this one is still the same.
