🚐 Immaculately produced but poorly vocalized. I absolutely hate this wave of artists who can’t sing, pitching up their voices in an attempt to make up for their lack of vocal talents 😭
🚌 i'm usually skeptical towards most up-and-coming artists attempting a chipmunk soul sound, since it often feels like they lean a bit too heavily on that early Kanye sound, but the beats here are fantastic and this dude can flow. the mixing and writing can definitely improve, but he has insane potential. hell yes man!
🐺 while there's definitely some highlights... this record is not for me, i struggle to see the appeal in most expiremental music that forgoes structure and melody, sorry folks
🪐 it saddens me quite a bit that i don't enjoy this album sllliightly more, because the production here is great! so many songs had me bopping my head, but it pains me how in projects like these, it's usually weak vocal performances that bring them down :/
💜 production here is fantastic. never heard of Totorija before, but they can cook up (and interpolate) a beat proper.
can’t really say the same for the majority of the feature performances here, What the hell is ‘loss is a lesson’ only saving grace there is the production 😭
🎃 passable writing, passable production, and passable vocals, but not much to be impressed by. as a whole this is a pretty enjoyable project but i would not seek out these songs again.
🔷 bruh this album is batshit crazy, sometimes to the album's detriment, and sometimes to its benefit, i actually really enjoy some of the sillier songs with loud electronic production, joost's weird voices/accent, and bizzare lyrics and concepts when they're well structured, but bro... you could not pay me to listen to some of these songs again X,D
🌳 First listen of 2026! can't say i'm too impressed by this project. best part about it is the lush, psychedelic production that quite unfortunately buries the vocals to an extent where they're barely discernable (which isn't much of a complaint, i love me some shoegaze) but i do wish the vocalist left a bigger impression since the production itself feels more serviceable than standout.
overall, it’s pleasant atmospheric music, but not something I feel compelled to ... read more
My first impressions of logic are SURPRISINGLY positive considering all the dirt I’ve been hearing thrown at his name for the entire duration I’ve known of his existence.
This record pretty obviously takes gigantic inspiration from Kendrick and Cole, but that doesn’t bother me much cuz I love both. logic is a good rapper, writer, and is able to pick a beat to a solid degree (at least at this point in his career) resulting in a pretty consistently good-great album!
Two girls who can barely sing attempt to disguise that fact with abrasive glitch pop and screaming. pretty much everything besides the singing is extremely well done, I love the production, and yes, even the screamo. as the album goes on, though, the vocals improve significantly, to the point where they stop being a constant distraction, but the rough singing early on still makes it hard for me to say my overall experience with the album was positive.
this record is a mixed back from every single aspect, but that's exactly what it's trying to be!
by bringing together dozens of different voices and styles of music, the people behind nano created some of the most compelling and sonically rich batch of mostly electronic music i've heard this year. and besides a few luckluster performances, im very happy with the way this record brings light to some amazingly talented producers and vocalists that have incredible potential and ... read more
whenever AOTY is presented with an obviously ironic album, the users are either complete buzzkills or ironically glaze it, so im here to give a genuine review of this album
obviously, the humor is absolutely horrid, but that's the point, it embraces the most god awful millenial humor in the best way possible which is why i genuinely don't hate this record at times where the production is SOLID, that being said... most of these songs contain the most basic metal production there is, ... read more
“THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE AN ALBUM, 21 SAVAGE!!1!1!” and it’s just Nas recycling the same old tired flows on production that we’ve been hearing for half a decade.
This is definitely a much more quality release than that 21 project, but nothing particularly notable, especially for such an acclaimed artist like Nas.
the real question is what happened to the drake i expected at least a half decent feature from him
