a really impressive capture of desperation, with tension throughout. On this however, the tension is a lot more serious than on the OOZ, giving the whole sound a more mature dynamic
OOZing with grit and darkness, while maintaining a tense and romantic mood. There's nothing quite like his sound
over time I feel like BBNG have started to sound less like an immensely college jazz band rehearsing and more like a mature group who know how to put together songs that will reach out beyond the core jazz crowd. The influence on this is evidently far less hip-hop and far more cinematic. I love all their work, but the serenity of some of the songs on here make it possibly my fave BBNG record to date. And they got verocai to work on it!!!!!!!!
the most accessible jazz has been in a while, really cool music with so much compositional beauty
after seeing them live I have appreciated these songs so much more. really honest and gritty
really magic shift from schlagenheim to this. I love it to bits, but over time the replay value has dwindled ever so slightly
great replay value and some very pleasing progressions hidden within all the madness
some of the weirdness on here is slightly outdated, but even today it is an intriguing and enjoyable listen
hilarious and smart, with such a wild backstory to the album's name. listening to this is pure entertainment
