I'mma be honest, I don't get the hype for this album. Great production and great vocals, but something it's just not working and in the end most of the songs are forgettable and end up being pretty boring. The only one I liked is Deer Stop because for some reason it reminds me of Portishead (I don't even know why tho) and I think that it sounds majestic. The rest of the album, pretty mid.
I had very high expectations for this album, I genuinely thought it was going to sound like "Product" from Sophie since I heard Saturday Night and Poison at first and I thought they had a similar vibe.
However, for me it's not working; some songs are great but in the end it's just mid also USA and Kiss have to be the most annoying songs ever made.
Poison is a hit tho it's the only reason why I was interested in this
It bothers me a bit that it's a long album, I don't think the last three songs were really that necessary, but in the end this was absolutely amazing. I wish they made more music because this is genuinely peak dream pop, they sound like Cocteau Twins but in a more dreamy and melancholic way.
Even if Dozen is the most popular and liked song, in my opinion Slowbleed and Torn are the best ones because they capture the ethereal and dreamy vibe perfectly.
Truly an hypnotic and happy album, it gives me a lot of spring/summer vibes mixed with a sci-fi atmosphere. The cover is just as good as sonically the album is, every single song is a bop for me maybe except for the outro that for me it doesn't really fit the rest of the songs.
ok BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW GOOD KING OF SILENCE IS??? I listened to this song a few months ago and I fell in love with it, so today I gave a chance to the whole album with very high expectations, that were ... read more
I will always remember this album. Not just because it’s so fucking good, but because of the person that it reminds me of <3
Only reason I came back to this album is nostalgia. I remember hearing this in late 2019, when I was severely obsessed with Brockhampton. It takes me back to long bus rides to go to school, my old friendships and all the stupid experiences I made with them.
Even if the main reason I enjoy this albums are the memories associated to it, I still like it a lot musically and lyrically. At the time I didn't really know much English so I wasn't paying attention to them, but now that I ... read more
Well I don't have the special plan of listening to this again because genuinely what the hell is this??? I really don't get it, and I don't think is scary as people say
It started being good then it got better then better again then AMAZING OMG THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS I HAVE EVER HEARD???? I'm giving a 90 because this is my first time listening but I'll definitely consider a 100 in the future because seriously it is that good
I already knew from the beginning that this was going to be a hard listening for me, because this is completely different from anything I normally listen to. Also, this time I had to pay a lot of attention to the lyrics, and it's something I'm not used to because I always focus more on the sound.
Ants from up there is not an album that you should listen to as background music or take it "lightly", you have to experience it, from the start to the end. Speaking of the ... read more
Every single ranking here is high as hell but I did not enjoy this. Just too much chaos that wasn't really going anywhere. Rill Rill slaps tho.
This is the first Danny Brown album I listen to in full so I really had no expectations, but I ended up enjoying it way more than I expected??? This was simply PERFECT!
I loved every single song inside this album, the production is top tier and the lyrics reflect deeply his emotions.
I don't think this was experimental, I actually think this was a quite chill and almost psychedelic rap album which definitely should have lasted longer.
Favorite songs: Tantor, Down with it, Celibate, Hanami ... read more
nah I'm not vibing with it, it's simply not my genre and the biggest problem here for me is her voice, I can't stand it
It's a great album, I thought it was mediocre at first but in the end I enjoyed it a lot. The thing is, I feel like the general sound has aged. It has all the potential for being a 2013 album, but unfortunately it's not something that sounds "new" or "aged like fine wine". Btw, Kaleidoscope Love is a BANGER, I love it
One of the few twee pop albums that I actually enjoy, it gives me sm happiness and a lot of cute spring/summer vibes
I feel like no one ever talks about this mixtape. It's not her best work but keep in mind this was her first time ever making music!! She was only 19, living in a car making some songs on garageband, she didn't even cared about getting famous at first lol
A lot of the songs here are amazing, like Chimichanga, Table for Two, Never be Yours (I'll always prefer the og version, sorry Kali) and Sunset
I love this album sm, it makes me feel like a fresh 14 year old girl smoking a cigarette for the first time
