Another very appreciated Shinjy recommendation.
I've listened to this while studying theology and it was such an intense experience. What I thought it was just a "typical" Midwest emo album is actually one of the most soul crushing I've ever heard from the genre. I've loved it during summer (I'm writing this in August), but I'm definitely going to love it even more when winter comes because this is like the equivalent of walking down the street in December ... read more
Super cool, the songs oriented on the more glitch pop side are incredible, the ballads were not really the best but still quite enjoyable.
Fav songs:
-Cops and robbers
-Locals (this BOP)
-Old Money bitch
-Geez Louise (this surprised me)
Will probably grow more on me in the future, I'm not typically a screamo person but holy sht her vocals are absolutely insane and amazing, plus the instrumentals are very good.
The only song I'm not a fan of is the 5th one but apparently I'm not the only one who thinks that If I look at its ranking...
The first 9 songs are amazing, I love their melancholic vibe and even if they're demos they just sound so good, however the second half of the album is not really what I was expecting, I'm not really the biggest fan of their electronic production, also songs like Cricket Club or Beat one sound so boring that you just want to skip them.
If they didn't put the instrumentals the album would definitely have a higher score, because out of all of them "Rocking with Keith" is ... read more
Why tf it's only 28 minutes I want more
Fav songs:
-Sugar on my tongue
-Ring ring ring
-Don't you worry baby (lowkey the best song in the entire album, it's seriously addicting)
- I'll take care of you (literally the same vibes as the previous song, it's soooo fucking good)
There may be a chance that I will change my score in the future because right now I'm not really that impressed. A lot of good tracks but also a lot of boring ones. There was absolutely NO NEED to make it last that long, and the deluxe tracks are not adding anything special to the album (except for the "my d touch the ground when I'm sitting on the floor" lyric that is sooo random and Shouldn't of).
I'm kinda sad to be disappointed, considering that Party all the ... read more
Unfortunately angel is the only highlight. It's pretty boring, uninspired and it feels like it lasts for an eternity even if it's only 26 minutes
really nice ep from a band I've never heard before, I probably need another listen since Figure it out was the only song that really stood out for me.
Thank you mutual for the recommendation!!
It started being good, then it got better and better and better. It's incredible, genuinely.
Extremely disappointing. You know it's a complete fail when in an album of 21 songs only 2 are actually good. Some of the stuff here is probably the worst in Gunn's catalogue, like JD Wrist and Disgusting... seriously wtf are these songs.
Everything is incoherent, the features are great but they don't really add much to the album, the mixing and the instrumentals are pretty bad (not in the case of Kitchen Lights of course), the flow is just not there.
Fav songs:
- Kitchen ... read more
Out of all Paramore's albums this was the one that inspired me the least, but I was dead wrong because it's incredibly good! In the future it will definitely grow on me since I was captured by its vibe immediately.
Fav songs:
- This is why
- The News ( a bop)
- Liar (AAHHH THIS IS THE BEST SONG!! it gives me brand new eyes vibes and I'm so happy for that... I always low-key liked their sad songs more)
- Thick Skull
Thank u to the person that recommended me this!!
Fun underrated album. Sounds like something that Scott Pilgrim and his band would play in another universe.
Aged like milk. Unfortunately this is something that had sense at the time of its release but I can't really see how it would be appreciated in modern times. Some songs are good and nowadays are considered classics (see Never be like you, which is a hit btw), but for the rest is really boring and commercial, I can't really see this type of music existing outside the context of those youtube makeup tutorials that went viral in like 2016.
Not on the same level as Come In, but overall it's very good and with similar vibes as the previous one. Although I feel like Come in is a little more emotional on some aspects and it captures better the whole hopeless and melancholic vibe, while this one is kinda less gut-wrenching.
Still, this is full of incredible good songs like Green Tea Seaweed Sea, Nostalgia Drive Avatar, the absolutely amazing Aldehydes (the ending is so beautiful) and Agatha's Goldfish.
I like experimental music and math rock but this was way too much headache inducing, plus I do not enjoy her voice at all.
Pure magic. I'm not really the biggest Björk fan but this is truly a masterpiece, from the instrumentals to her voice this can definitely be considered her best album.
Best songs: Hidden Place, Frosti (yes I know it's an interlude but it's simply too good and magical), Cocoon, it's not up to you, Aurora, Sun in my mouth, Unison
LADY GAGA DISCOGRAPHY DEEP DIVE #1
Since I've been a little monster for many years I felt like it was weird not writing reviews for her music. I've already made MAYHEM when it came out however I'm doing again a discography deep dive to revisit all of her masterpieces.
The Fame is definitely my favorite album by her and, in my opinion, the best debut album ever made. I was still very little when it came out, but I remember the chaos! Everyone was calling her a crazy weirdo ... read more
